Things Sophie Makes

I had my degree show on Friday where I exhibited this years college project which was all about Things Sophie Makes and becoming more sustainable. Thank you so much to everyone who voted in polls, commented on my posts and provided me with feedback, it was all very useful for my research! I have temporarily closed my website as I am off to Italy for a little while but I will reopen it again in August 🌞 In the meantime, pop into CCAM on the Wellpark Road and check out the fabulous exhibition put together by all of the students, our work will be there until June 11th 🥰

The Lana collection is now live on my website 💚 This collection is 100% biodegradable and made from recycled wool, Lana being the Latin for wool 🐑 Thank you for all the support on this collection so far, I've been working on it for the past 5 months as part of my final year project and I'm very proud of the results 🍃

So excited to be sharing what I've been working on AND these insanely stunning photos by 😍 The past few months I've been working on a little collection for my final year college project which is based around sustainability 🍃 All of these products are made from recycled wool so they're 100% biodegradable and natural 💚 I had so much fun designing and making these products and I really love how they turned out, I hope you do too 🥰 I will be adding a few bits to my website at 5pm tomorrow so keep your eyes peeled 👀

I was playing around with dyeing recycled wool last week and accidentally made the loveliest blue ombre yarn 🧶💙 So I turned it into a bandana! I've been working on coming up with a way to make bandanas without stripes and I really like how these look, what do you think? 🥰

How cute is in this granny square vest I made last week 🥰 I wanted to have a go at making a v neck vest and I had some nice wool to use up 🤎 It reminds me of a cappuccino 😆

I crochet everyday but I rarely find the time to make things for myself 😆 I've been wanting a cropped cardigan for ages so I decided to make one for myself and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out 😍 It's made from 100% wool so it's super cosy and warm (so much so that I've been wearing it ever since I finished it 🤣)
I think its time to make one in another colour now 💗

Some handwarmers I made this weekend from recycled 100% wool yarn 🥰 I really like these colours, they give me cosy Winter vibes 🔥❄ All three pairs are on my shop now 😌

I absolutely love making handwarmers and I always bring a few pairs to markets with me but I never got around to putting them up on my shop 🙃 So I will have a few ready to ship pairs going up tomorrow, keep your eyes peeled 👀

I was sorting through my wardrobe today and I found this vest that I made last year and had completely forgotten about and only worn for these photos 😭 She deserves more love than that so I've decided to sell it because it's super cute ❤

In other news, I will be at the small business Valentine's market on Wednesday the 9th (this Wednesday coming) in NUIG and I'm very excited 🥰 It will be my first market of 2022 so if you're around town on Wednesday make sure to pop in and check it out! I will have this vest and loads of other bits available 💗

2021, what a year 🌼🤩 Things Sophie Makes moved from Etsy to its very own website, I launched my first two collections, I made more Daisy dreams bralettes than I ever could have imagined and I even started selling my creations in person at a number of different markets 💗 I can't wait to get more creative this year and show you more of my ideas 😉 Happy New Year, here's hoping 2022 is a better one 😌

The first Christmas post of the year 🤭🎄 I'm so exciting to be bringing back my Christmas decorations from last year, I was obsessed with these sparkly snowflakes last year 😍 I've been working on snowflakes all evening and they make me very happy ❤ I'll have these at all of my upcoming markets and I'll pop them up on my website in the next few days! ❄

Cold, dark days call for snuggly sweaters ❄🥰 Spent the last few weeks working on a pattern for a cosy, cropped jumper and I'm so happy with how these turned out! I will have a few of these available on my website soon, I will be taking custom orders so you can get one in any colour you like 💗😌
