We understand that these problems can happen, and we want to give you useful solutions. Below are some helpful tips to help fix the problem!
1. Colours distorted on image- check if your projector cables are connected properly/ replace your cables.
2. Lines/dots on the image- this is usually caused by the projector's DMD chip: compare the cost of getting a new DMD chip or getting a new projector.
3. Projector overheating- this is caused by the fan in most cases (if there is no noise then the fan may not be working, causing it to overheat)/ replace your filters or clean them as clogged filters are another reason for the projector overheating.
4. Projector turning on, then off, straight away- first, you should check your power supply. if these cables are connected, try checking how dusty your projector filters are. Clogged dust in the filters could mean your projector is starting to fail, hence it turning on and then off again.
5. Projector on, but no image- make sure your cables are connected. If the cables are not the problem, it could be the lamp ballast unit (this is what provides the lamp with power). If the lamp ballast unit isn't working, the lamp usually won't be either, so take your projector in for an assessment.
6. Shadows appearing on the image (only applies to DLP projectors)- this can either be a problem with the DMD chip or it could be to do with the mirror. The projector would need an assessment to determine which it is.
7. Colour around the edge of the image- this may occur on LCD projectors if the LCD prism becomes faulty. If the LCD prism is faulty, it is worth looking at buying a new projector as the LCD prism is the projectors priciest component.

The Original Inside includes the bulb AND the housing, supplied by a manufacturer (like Optoma...). Projector lamps explained.
Is it a bulb or is it a lamp? Whatβs the difference?
Its part terminology and part who uses what word to describe what they require, a bulb or a lamp.
There is a difference.
A projector bulb is exactly that, the bulb. If you purchase a bulb you will need to, very carefully, fit that bulb into the bulb housing.
A projector lamp is the complete unit, bulb + housing. The housing will already have the bulb fitted, so you simply have to remove the old housing from the projector and fit the new one. This method is far more convenient than fitting a bulb only.
Now onto the lamp itself. You will see all manner of terms used to describe the lamp being sold; genuine, genuine original, genuine compatible, original this, original that. It can get quite confusing.
There are just 3 types of lamp you can purchase. We carry all 3 options so you can offer your customers the best possible choice;
Original β Manufacturers genuine lamp. This means the whole unit, including the bulb and the housing are original, supplied by the manufacturer, such as Epson.
VIVID β Original Inside. This means all VIVID lamps are fitted with a genuine bulb in a compatible housing.
Compatible β This means a compatible bulb (3rd party) inside a compatible housing (3rd party).
Our quality compatible range of replacement lamps are a cost effective alternative to the original lamp. We produce our compatibles to exacting specifications to ensure the highest level of quality.
VIVID lamps offer the perfect balance. This means your customers need not have to pay what can amount to hundreds of pounds more for a genuine lamp without compromising on quality.
