"I am an award-winning artisan flower farmer and florist running Maura’s Cottage Flowers, which caters for weddings, corporate floral requirements, local deliveries and flower arranging classes.

Living on an idyllic, sheltered hillside site just outside Tralee in Co Kerry, I take great pride in farming the same parcel of land that has been tended by several generations before me. I manage the flower farm sustainably and offer a bespoke service creating flower arrangements that are unique and distinctive, with an eye for colour and attention to detail. My flowers are scented, natural and always reflect the seasons.

Gardening has always been a passion of mine, and after rearing our seven children, I followed my dream to study horticulture through distance learning with The Organic College in Dromcollogher, Co Limerick and have completed several courses since then, including professional floristry with the National Organic Training Skillsnet.

I am a founding member of the Flower Farmers of Ireland and a regular columnist with Irish Country Living magazine. I have also worked as a consultant on school and community garden projects, volunteer with the Inspire programme for people with special needs and am a host farmer with Kerry Social Farming. I love to share the joy of gardening and growing your own flowers with as many people as possible."

"I am a Killarney native and grew up close to Muckross National Park, spending childhood afternoons and weekends exploring the park with my parents and friends. My own background is in marketing and journalism, with my partner Martin's background is in mixology and as a flair bartender. When we moved back to Killarney, we decided to pursue our dream of creating a gin that would represent the beauty of our home in a new way."

Ladies View Industries is owned and managed by the O’Shea family having been established by Mortimer O’Shea in 1937. The business is located at a famous beauty spot known as Ladies View, which is part of the world renowned Ring of Kerry and also located within Killarney National Park. Ladies View gets its name from the pleasure expressed by Queen Victoria’s Ladies’ in waiting on their visit to the spot in 1861. The O’Shea family business at Ladies View comprises of a Gift Store, Café and Bar and provides the visitor to the area with a welcome break and rest.

"So how did I get here?

I have always loved fashion & trends and am fascinated how events, economics, everyday life & culture actually inform and create them. After completing a law degree and a postgraduate diploma in History of Art & Design I began my career in Dunnes Stores, moving up the ranks to buyer and then leaving to open and run my own boutique, Ruby, which I operated in Tralee, for almost 4 years.
My next move was to join Primark in their International Buying Office in Dublin and later move to their UK office. While in London I worked for Ralph Lauren (Polo Factory Outlet EMEA) & Dorothy Perkins.

I have occupied senior roles in both fast fashion and luxury retail and have seen at first hand how very different target markets will still align on the basic buying principles. I also learned that I loved the business end of things and strategy & commercial planning were as interesting to me as curating product.
In 2019 I returned to Kerry from London in search of a different work life balance with my young family. Consultancy has offered me this solution: I love the world of retail: the business side and the product side. and now enjoy how consultancy allows me to apply my expertise from working with international retailers to different businesses and individuals - providing people with solutions and frameworks to build & lead more compelling businesses.

In 2023 I completed my diploma in Business Sustainability & achieved a distinction. As our world is constantly changing, I'm constantly learning and now enjoy being able to coach businesses, communities & clubs on how they can lead more sustainable lives.

And when I'm not working or spending time with my family, you'll usually find me in deep water. I'm a marathon swimmer and member of a 4 person swim relay team. Last year we swam The English Channel from England to France & Fenit Lighthouse in Kerry to Loop Head Lighthouse in Clare.
