Families and guardians can now register for a free GP visit card for 6 and 7 year olds for the first time.

GP visit cards cover access to GP care without charges. If you have a GP visit card, you don't have to pay to see your doctor.

COVID AND FLU VACCINE CLINICS

We will be running our last walk in clinic for covid and flu vaccines on Thursdays 17th November between 10AM-12 midday .

There is no need to make an appointment as these are walk in clinics.

We will be running walk in flu and covid vaccination clinics throughout October every Tuesday and Thursday from 10AM-12 and 2PM-4PM.

The HSE have established a Support Phone line (Tel: 087 1405138) for those impacted by the recent tragedy in Creeslough.

Calls will be responded to by trained HSE professionals.

The purpose of the Support Line is to give the public direct access to professional support, advice and information, including about services as appropriate.

COVID BOOSTER VACCINATION

We will be running walk in covid booster vaccination clinics for people 16 years and older on the following dates.

Tuesday 11th January 9AM to 11AM & 2PM to 4PM

Thursday 13th January 9AM to 11AM & 2PM to 4PM

We will be running large covid booster clinics for patients who are registered with our practice over the next 4 weeks. GPs can now vaccinate any patient over the age of 16. It is anticipated that Ireland will face an imminent wave of the omicron variant and getting your booster jab is an effective measure to protect yourself against serious illness and hospitalisation.

COVID VACCINE BOOSTER CLINICS

Covid Booster is only available for any at-risk patients who have received both their Covid Vaccinations at the ARK MEDICAL CENTRE in the past

Please note: 5 months needs to have elapsed since your second dose before you are eligible for a booster vaccination and you must have not have had covid in the past 6 months. Please check this before booking.

Patients aged 70 and over have already been contacted by the practice for their Covid-19 booster. If you are in this age group and have not been contacted, please call Reception 074 9128180 or book online for the next available clinic.

Following the recent government announcement patients aged 50 years and over and those patients in the high-risk categories with underlying health conditions are now eligible for a Covid 19 booster vaccine and can now book their appointment online.

Patients who qualified previously for a vaccine in the high-risk categories 4 + 7 had one of the following health conditions:

Diabetics
Obesity – BMI >35
Chronic Respiratory Disease – includes severe asthma, moderately severe COPD
Chronic Heart and vascular disease
Patients on medication/treatment for heart failure or on hypertensive medication
Vascular disease or history of vascular surgery
Immunocompromised
Cancer patients
Chronic Kidney / Liver / Neurological Disease

We will also be offering Flu vaccine at our clinics, just indicate when booking that you would like to receive your Flu vaccine also.
