Yesterday our Business Dept welcomed Elaine Sterio, owner operator of six Mc Donald branches in Ireland. Elaine’s presentation on the franchising model was excellent, filled with invaluable wisdom, practical advice, and a sprinkle of her enthusiasm!
Her achievements serve as a beacon of inspiration for us all, showcasing the endless possibilities that wait for those who dare to dream big and work tirelessly to turn those dreams into reality. We are immensely grateful for the opportunity to learn from someone as accomplished and inspiring 🤩
We are looking anyone aged between 12 -17years to come and have your say on what you would like to see happening in the Library and what you would like to see on the shelves. Our students had a lovely morning with local composer Michael Gallen at the Iontas Theatre. Michael shared his compositional inspiration for his magnificent opera 'Elsewhere'.

As part of Business students participated in an excellent workshop delivered by Michael from Monaghan MABS - The Money Advice and Budgeting Service. The aim of this workshop is to empower students to learn to manage their money wisely and to save for the future 💶💰
Tomorrow we mark two important days on the calendar: ‘Lots of Socks, World Down Syndrome Day’ 🧦 and ‘Wear Red Day, Show Racism the Red Card’ 🔴
We ask that all students wear red in support and donate €2 which will be collected tomorrow morning by our Student Council.

Incredible day out for rugby boys going undefeated in 4 games and unfortunately losing out on points in the end. Some fantastic play from the lads and an impressive statement in our first year of competitive rugby! 🏉

A fabulous fun morning for our Senior Cycle students at O'Fiaich Institute of Further Education. The students found the morning very informative & enjoyed finding out about future career pathways.
To celebrate ‘Women in Sports Week’ our junior cycle girls took to the water at Castleblayney Outdoor Adventure Centre. Through team work and resilience they completed 5k! 🛶💪

Monaghan County Council’s Coiste na Gaeilge has arranged that at least 36 scholarships will be made available to second level students living in the County.
The scholarships are being sponsored by Monaghan County Council and by:

Day 3 concludes the fantastic STEM Passport for Inclusion programme which our TY girls have been involved in throughout the year. Today they designed and constructed some prototypes of devices relating to sustainability. Thanks to our colleagues and peers from Beech Hill College, Monaghan for collaborating with us and to W5 Microsoft for facilitating this inspirational event.
1st year students learning about water conservation and how small daily water saving actions can help save our water supply!
Well done to our U16 Rugby squad who braved the elements today winning 2/3 of their games in very harsh conditions! ☃️❄️ They now progress to the final Ulster blitz stage! 🏉
We have been learning about conserving water in & completing cross curricular activities on many different aspects of water during . 1st years explored the poem ‘The Sea’ by James Reeves during English class 📖
Our TY students completed a Certificate of Training in Emergency First Aid ⛑️ 🩹🚑 Thanks to Sheila Linden of NB Training Services-www.nbts.ie, Castleblayney for the excellent delivery of this programme.
Students were taught invaluable skills to be able to help in an emergency. They were given a demonstration as to how to use a de-fibrilator, how to do CPR and the workshop may encourage them to do further studies in First Aid, healthcare or to volunteer in the future with First Responders. Thank you again to Sheila Linden & Noeleen Boyle for providing this workshop!
