I used to design great looking ads and post them on Facebook thinking this is it, "this one is going to get me a ton of business", only to end up with another advertising bill and no business...
What is it, why do these ad's not work? What will it take to make them work?
There are a number of working parts to this answer but one can often quickly see where the main problems are.
In short, here are the main moving parts and pieces that must be put in place otherwise it affects the whole money making machine.
# 1. You must have a very clear client avatar. You must know who the client is and what their pain point is.
Your advertising must communicate a specific solution to that pain and highlight the eventual outcome of your solution provided. These are referred to as pushing the emotional buttons or hotspots.
# 2. You must know where to find these clients online and engage with them in an intelligent manner that they would relate to. This would typically follow a relationship building sequence of KNOW, LIKE, TRUST.
This is a typically a mix of strategially written content and experiences that gain attention and build belief within the client.
# 3. You must have very clear channels and steps for your clients to take in order to minimise confusion and be as easy as 1,2,3.
Thats it, if you look at your business model and you cannot point to very specific outlines of these three steps, then you know where to start in order to FIX the hole in your advertising pocket.
Sometimes, in order to fix the complex, we need to stand back and use a simple lens to focus on the essentials.
A. Who is your client? - Know them like a friend
B. How do you plan to connect with them and build trust?
C. What channels and processes are you using to enable you to connect and convert your target market?

Don't Ever Say That Again Around Me! - Those are the words that still ring in my head from the days when I was selling a Memory Skills Program.
It was December 1989 or so and I was chatting with a colleague of mine that had been an agent at the same company for quite some time. I made the grave mistake of making the following statement. -
Next year is going to be a great year!" I said. He looked at me with mild disdain and replied,
"Never put success in the future, make it present tense! You can still make a sale today, tomorrow and the next."
He proceeded to make sales on Christmas Day! To top it all English was not his mother tongue. In fact he simply crushed it every month.
This is the short version of how brilliant this guy was. I'll never forget the mindset or perspective he had on sales.
Why am I sharing this story?
I personally feel very optimistic about this year and am reminding myself of this particular perspective that does not wait for success to hopefully arrive from the future, but rather to pursue intentionally, purposefully and strategically RIGHT NOW!
RIGHT NOW you can fill your sails and take action.
