Happy Earth Day 2024!
Support for breastfeeding is an environmental imperative.
Breastfeeding is an important way to protect our environment and our health and can have a significant impact on our planet and on climate change.
We need national and global policies and systems in place to provide the support families need for breastfeeding.
For more about breastfeeding and the environment, visit the LLL website: https://www.laleche.org.uk/breastmilk-and-the-environment/
"Every time I try to put my baby down to sleep, they cry! What am I doing wrong?"
Many new parents are surprised by how intensely their baby needs to be held and comforted, yet this is the biological norm for newborns and an important survival instinct: by being close to their caregiver, your baby makes sure they are protected and close to their only source of nutrition in the first few months.
You can find more information - and reassurance - about normal infant behavior on the LLL website:

Experiencing a power outage?
Try to keep the freezer door completely shut while power is out. Once power is back, check to see if there are any ice crystals that remain in the bags.
If there are any ice crystals at all, it may be refrozen.
If there are no longer ice crystals in the milk, current guidelines recommend that this milk be used within 24-48 hours (24 hours if baby is a preemie or has immune issues that require stricter precautions) and not refrozen.
