Procrastination is not laziness, it's a behaviour caused by stress in our lives or negative beliefs we have about ourselves. It is the biggest challenge to our productivity, and is also linked to increased stress and dissatisfaction in the workplace.

Here are some simple tips to assist you to overcome it:

1. The 2-minute rule :
↳ If the task can be completed in under 2 minutes…
↳ Do it now

2. Put your phone in another room:
↳ Our phones are the biggest distraction
↳ Put it in another room and get on with your task

3. Break things down:
↳ Big projects cause overwhelm and procrastination
↳ Break your tasks into small challenges to avoid this happening

4. The 5-second rule:
↳Once you realise you’re procrastinating, give yourself 5 seconds
↳ By the count of 5, move yourself back into the task in hand, or begin the one awaiting you.

5. 'Eat the frog' - get it out of the way
↳ Complete the most difficult and pressing task first.

6. Stop aiming for perfection
↳ Trying to attain perfection can be paralysing
↳ Just make a start, it will fall into place as you go

Do you have tips for getting over procrastination?
Let me know in the comments below 😄

Forgiveness can be a powerful healing agent. It is not condoning or even forgetting the harm and pain caused. It is releasing the need for revenge and letting go of the negative thoughts and resentment.

When we continue to hang on to painful emotions related to our hurt, even if we feel justified to hold onto those emotions, it stops us from receiving the benefits associated with forgiveness. Things such as reductions in:

⭐depression
⭐resentment
⭐rumination

When offering forgiveness, it is not always necessary to let the other person know. It can be solely for healing and empowerment to the person who has been hurt ❣

Just an introduction to me for new people to the page… Welcome! 🙏🏻

Just a reshare For everyone who has been with me since last year.. as always Welcome! 🙏🏻

Please feel free to share for anyone who may feel now is the right time to add therapy into their self care 💓

For those of you that don’t know me, here is a bit of information on who I am and how I work 🙏🏻

I am a qualified, holistic integrative counsellor psychotherapist, with over 15 years experience in the area of mental health with individuals and the community. If you are looking for someone to help you find clarity, nurture healing and cultivate change in your life then please make contact. If you are experiencing uncertainty, grief, loneliness or overwhelm, then I am here to support in a confidential, compassionate and non-judgemental way as you navigate the best way for you to move forward.

I work primarily in an integrative way, meaning a holistic and individual to each person approach. This facilitates models and techniques from varied therapeutic schools of thought, which vary depending on the unique to each person needs and goals. My work is rooted in the person centred, with each person as the expert in their own life and healing.

Therapy is a process that allows us to learn, grow, heal and gain a better understanding of ourselves as individuals and in relation to others. If you would like to have a preliminary introduction call to identify if I am the right therapist for you, please contact me with any questions you might have ❣️

💗

Exam results are the measure of no human being. We are more than our grades, our jobs, our houses and cars, our figures and social status. Meaningful lives are based on integrity, kindness and being purposeful. An A* in strength of character…now that’s worth celebrating 🥰🥰🥰

As we embark into a new year,

Sadly their will be a lot of new children who will need to avail of our service,

Please do share it so we can reach the families that may like our support.

We base our services on what we would have loved as young children but also as early intervention.

Our work with bereaved siblings is “life changing”, “vital”, “friendly and inviting” and “informal yet informative”. 😌

Also if you would like some copies for your staff room, notice board or email contacts please do get in touch with us 👏🏻

Have you ever wondered if therapists go for their own therapy?

🌟 Yes, we sure do. Therapy, is as much a supportive experience for us as it is for our clients. And here’s just a few reasons why…

💗 We are all human, and just because as therapists we have a certain level of knowledge about the processes of the mind-spirit-body connection, it does not mean we do not experience the same challenges, losses or insecurities. Most professionals in this area, will absolutely practice what they preach and seek out their own therapeutic supports.

💗 Regular therapy helps ensure we stay grounded and provides a centering space, which in turn supports us to provide a safe, stable and attuned space for our clients.

💗 It is absolutely vital that our own personal issues do not become entangled with professional obligations. Personal therapy supports in maintaining an ethical and boundaried relationship.

💗 Engaging in therapy is the maintaining of our own self-care and wellbeing. By attending therapy ourselves we are ensuring we are best placed to provide the service and support to our client that they deserve.

The Drama Triangle - Do you ever feel like you are caught in a situation that feels like this?

There are three recognised roles of the Drama Triangle, all which centre around unmet needs: Victim, Persecutor and Rescuer and we are at any time able to move from one role to another very quickly if we feel that one is not working for us. Do any of these sound like something you recognise in yourself or someone else?

The motivation behind those needs is generally negative, with roots based on poor / non existent self belief, shame, pain and insecurity. Drama’s can be Internal / External - involving others who play a part, or messages within ourselves. The Drama Triangle is for the most part, a negative, reactive and unconscious way of getting our (perceived) needs met by another.

Within the therapeutic space, we would work towards supporting you to be able to move forward with compassion, love and a positive sense of Self, in place of old patterns of reacting from insecurity, fear and shame. When we have a situation that activates us into potentially falling into old roles, we are reminded we have the ability to pause, breathe and choose another way of responding❣️

If you are thinking about engaging in therapy, or know someone who is… I have a couple of afternoon / evening appts available. Please make contact with me to discuss further and see if I am the right therapist for you ❣️
