Our Story

Annascaul Celebrating Singing is an annual weekend event in the lovely, scenic village of Annascaul in West Kerry. This event grew out of Annascaul Singing Club and a genuine love for music. This year’s fantastic weekend will provide diverse and splendid workshops, screenings and musicial sessions for music-lovers of all ages.

Our weekend is a unique and inspiring opportunity to make new friends and to gain great insights into the Irish singing industry from accomplished professionals. Last year, we were honoured to host such a large gathering of brilliant singers, musicians and songwriters, including Laine Henderson (formerly of Riverdance), Niamh Varian-Barry (Solas), Muireann nic Amhlaoibh (Danú), guitarist/singer Pat Johnson (previously of Avatar), Ruti Lachs, and many more terrific Irish musical creatives from near and far. People can learn many new skills and techniques in a very relaxed, personal environment.

Our main aim is to nurture and encourage the singing abilities of every person who wishes to sing at our open house. We are not Simon Cowell and this is not X-Factor. We strongly believe that you have a voice and should never be afraid to use it. We love music, and we want to stimulate the growth and love of the local Irish musical industry, an industry which everyone belongs to.
