Cashel GAA

Cashel GAA has a history almost as long as the GAA itself. In 1890 it is recorded that Cashel had a GAA Club called the Newtowncashel Sons of St Kieran.

Hi all,

An Taoiseach Simon Harris will visit the village of Newtowncashel tomorrow Sunday 19th May. He is due to arrive in the village at approximately 3pm and will visit a few areas of interest around the village during which time there will be an opportunity for members of the community to meet and greet and even get a sneaky selfie! 📸

Refreshments will be served in The Hill and all are welcome. Please spread the word to young and old and make a special effort to come out and welcome him. It's not everyday An Taoiseach visits our little parish!

11/05/2024

Just a reminder that Cashel GAA player Brian Kelly and his pals will be arriving tomorrow afternoon at roughly 3:10pm.

The lads are currently half way through their 32, 32, 32 challenge where they are aiming to kick 32 points in 32 counties in 32 hours.

It would be brilliant to see people up at Pairc Chiaran at 3pm tomorrow to support the lads on their penultimate stop of the journey. There will be refreshments served also!

Fair play lads 👏

A message from our senior footballer Brian Kelly who is embarking on a great fundraiser this weekend along with some of his friends from the St. Barry’s club in Roscommon.

Hi all, I’m taking part in a fundraiser over the weekend for a woman in Scramogue who has Motor Neurone Disease. We’re travelling around the 32 counties to 32 GAA clubs this weekend. Cashel is our Longford club and second last stop and we’re hoping to land there at around 3:10 on Sunday. We’re hoping to get a big turnout so I’d be delighted to have anyone who wants to come. There will be tea, sandwiches and other treats on the day and it’ll be a great opportunity for the parish to come together.

If you can’t make it the link to donate is - https://gofund.me/226b8555.

Hoping to see you all on Sunday.

Kind regards,

Brian Kelly.
