This coming friday 'The Westport Point Dippers' swimming group are raising funds here at The Helm Westportto buy a defibrillator for the Point/Quay area. We'll have live music from our own Joe Forde agus An Neantog (aka Brendan Keegan) of course to keep everyone entertained for this very worthy cause

Westport Educate Together National School will host a Winter Fair on Sat 2nd Dec 2023 from 10am - 1pm on the grounds of Westport Woods Hotel. They are raising funds and awareness to their new school, and will be selling an array of handmade and local produce alongside other refreshments and stalls .. hope you can call in. Spot prizes on offer for their raffle too ...

What a brilliant weekend we had for the Skate Festival 2023 for all the anglers .. old & new .. plus a good few returning guests just over the weekend to meet up with old acquaintances. Overall 4 Skate were tagged & released ... the weather was kind .. the craic was mighty! Great interest once again in coming back next year, word is there could be 7 boats ... start saving those pennies everyone ... special thanks to Carla & Phil for organising this great event

The Helm Skate Festival is nearly upon us already ! Hopefully the weather will stay calm for all our returning anglers. We'll have live music & craic as usual with a host of prizes for all categories. The Guinness will be flowing, the jokes will be as bad as ever (Skinner!), and the tales about the one that got away will be repeated long into the night ....
