Measles is circulating widely globally. If you are travelling abroad with a baby who is aged between 6 and 11 months inclusive, it is recommended that you get your infant a pre-travel MMR vaccine at least 2 weeks before travel. Your child will still need their 12 month MMR vaccine as scheduled.

Call us to book your child in with one of our nurses for pre-travel MMR if you are travelling overseas this summer.

Flu can be a serious illness for children. The nasal flu vaccine is FREE for all children aged between 2 and 17 (inclusive).

We have slots available to book online or if none of these times suit please call reception on 01 5676300 to book in.

The flu vaccine for kids is a nasal mist so doesn’t hurt and takes only a minute to do. It gives your child protection from the flu virus and other respiratory illnesses. It also helps stop the spread of flu to those around them.

You may have received a text from the HSE about your 3rd booster, if so and are a patient of the practice you can book in at Kingsford Medical to get it.

You are eligible to get your third booster dose if you are:

age 65 or older
age 12 or older with a weak immune system
12 to 64 with a condition that puts you at high risk of serious illness from COVID-19 - only if your second booster dose was not a bivalent vaccine

You can also book your 2nd booster if you are aged 18-64 and haven’t already had it.

COVID VACCINES 3RD BOOSTER DOSE FOR 65+ AGE GROUP

We will be running clinics to administer third boosters (5th vaccine) here in the practice in October and appointments are now available to book. Patients can receive their flu shot on the same day.

The HSE are now inviting people aged 65 years and over to book their second COVID-19 booster vaccine online. Those with a weak immune system can also get their second booster, when it is due.

Covid Vaccine — Kingsford Medical Given the rapidly evolving circumstances around COVID and in particular the Omicron variant there is a focused acceleration of the COVID BOOSTER PROGRAMME. The overriding clinical imperative is to have as many of the population as possible vaccinated within the next few weeks.

New rules regarding isolation and close contacts come into effect tomorrow the 14th January.

Government update: DIGITAL COVID CERTS

New certs will begin to be issued automatically by the HSE from later this week to booster vaccine recipients.

Everyone who receives the booster vaccine with us, has their data uploaded to the HSE on the day of vaccination.
