The Irish Red Grouse Association was formed in 2010 following a directive from the Executive Board of Countryside Alliance Ireland. Vincent Flannelly was appointed as Chairman and was given the task of setting up the Irish Red Grouse Association. Vincent then assembled a group of like-minded people who have signed up to achieve the following objectives
• to stop the decline of Red Grouse in Irelan

The Irish Red Grouse Conservation Trust is running a best practice management Seminar and Demonstration day at Ballydangan Bog on Saturday the 25th of February.

The Programme for the day at Ballydangan Bog, Co. Roscommon, EIRCODE: N37 HT68 on Saturday the 25th of February at 1030 will include, speakers from NPWS, BNM, Birdwatch Ireland, Bog land Ecologist and the IRGCT. In the afternoon there will demonstrations on predation control, bog land flora and fauna and cutting heather techniques

Please RSVP via email to [email protected] by the 15th of February to confirm your attendance so we can plan for this interesting event in terms of accommodation, food, refreshments and logistics. There is no cost for this event, however as we are a registered charity we would welcome a subscription to the Irish Red Grouse Conservation Trust at https://www.irgct.com/join/ , however, this subscription is not mandatory for you to join us on the day, your presence is far more important to us in conserving our valuable ground nesting birds.

Regrettably numbers are restricted so it is strictly on a first come/ first served basis
