Kilkenny Eco Tours - Explore The Nore Your Way!
Kilkenny Eco Tours is currently offering day long canoeing tours on an exceptionally picturesque 9km stretch of the River Nore between Thomastown and Inistioge, Co. Kilkenny. A light picnic lunch is provided on the banks of the river, and tea/coffee is also included afterwards in a bar in Inistioge. The tour also allows some time to explore the beautiful and historic village of Inistioge before being transported back to the original starting point in Thomastown.
If you are easy going, interested in the simple things in life, like a little bit of fun and soft adventure, learning about local culture and historical sites, and most of all getting close to nature, then this tour is for you! Book today and enjoy the liberating feeling of gliding downstream whilst taking in the beautiful scenery from a new perspective, and all in the knowledge that you are engaging in a low-impact activity that is one of the most sustainable ways of exploring your surroundings.
The stretch of the banks of the river Nore is picturesque and interesting with a nice balance between pasture and native woodland as well as many stretches of natural habitat for flora and fauna. This makes it possible to explore plant life and encounter wildlife which often includes otters and kingfishers for example. It is also an ideal backdrop to communicate the rich history of the local area.
Tours can be designed flexibly to include more or less adventure, environmental or other activities depending on the interests and desires of the group.
