We had a great day out last week to Nova UCD. It was in order to take new staff portraits. But it also gave us a chance to look around the space and see how it is being used! It was a great project to work on.

For our project with UCD Innovation, we were delighted to work with renowned artist Shane O Driscoll. Having his unique artwork on the walls made a special project even more interesting.
We collaborated with Shane to produce six large-scale screen prints commissioned by Ornua and donated to UCD.
Shane documented his process from inception to completion using photography.

Lovely interview in Irish Times Culture with British historians Tom Holland and Dominic Sandbrook, the cohosts of the hugely popular The Rest Is History podcast.
They were recording episodes of their cult show in the GPO here in Dublin with historian Paul Rouse on the events that led up to the Easter Rising.
We at Kavanagh Tuite were, of course, honoured to work on the exhibition centre at GPO Museum.

REVIEW: Venice Biennale 2023: an important challenge to western architectural tradition
Under the title The Laboratory of the Future, Lesley Lokko, the Ghanaian-Scottish curator of this year’s biennale, succeeds in her aim to show off under-represented talent from Africa and elsewhere – even if it doesn’t all quite come off.

Here are some photos of a recent office project we did in nearby Clonskeagh Square in Dublin 6.
It involved the refurbishment of a 1980s two-storey office building into a modern, energy efficient and accessible corporate headquarters.
The building was upgraded to current best practice energy efficiency standards. All existing timber windows were replaced with triple-glazed Alu-Clad windows, the walls and roof were also thermally insulated to a high standard.
A HVRF system was introduced to provide heating and cooling. Additionally, low-energy lighting is now controlled by a DALI system.
Fully accessible toilets and showers were installed in addition to a lift for access to the first floor. Internal doors were also fully automated to enable ease of access throughout.
Kavanagh Tuite Architects managed the interior design of the project including the design of all the fitted furniture and the specification of furniture for the client.
The building achieved a Building Energy Rating of A3 which is a testament to the good design of the project.
