DAF Trucks is doing well after the introduction of the XF, XG and XG+. In the second quarter of 2022, DAF was able to further expand its market share in Europe to 17.5 percent. In the first three months of 2022, it also rose from 16 to 17 percent.

DAF's new range of premium trucks is generating strong demand, ensuring that DAF's European market share in the heavy-duty segment has increased to 17.5 percent since the beginning of this year. The new DAF trucks deliver the highest fuel efficiency in the industry, which is attractive to customers who are dealing with higher fuel costs.

The heavy truck market in Europe is expected to reach 270,000 to 300,000 vehicles this year. Incidentally, DAF is completely sold out for this year and is already filling the order books for 2023 quite well.

In China, the authorities have partially stopped operations in the Ningbo-Zhoushan container port, due to a corona case the second largest container port, operations were partially suspended, which could have massive effects on global supply chains.

The reason is a corona case, as the ARD studio, Beijing reports. According to the operator, a worker in the port was infected with Covid-19. According to Chinese media reports, almost 2,000 dock workers are said to have been put under surveillance and are not allowed to leave the port area.

Ningbo-Zhoushan is the country's second-largest container port after Shanghai. 18.68 million standard containers (TEU) were handled there in the first seven months of this year, an increase of 17.1 per cent compared to the same period in the previous year, and according to the local studio, around 40 container ships are already waiting in front of the entrance to the port of Ningbo-Zhoushan.
