A reminder to Under 12. 12-15 and 15-18 competitors who will be competing in Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan on Fiddle Slow Airs, Flute Slow Airs, Whistle Slow Airs, Harp Slow Airs, Irish Singing and English Singing of the Munster Scoil Fonn Workshops which take place prior to the Fleadh on Thursday, July 18th in Ursuline Secondary School, Thurles

Scholarship recipients who received 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in any of the above competitions at your recent County Fleadhanna may register for their place in these workshops at www.munsterfleadh.ie/scoilfonn
This promises to be a most beneficial day of workshops. Closing Date for registration is next Wednesday, July 10th

Comhairle na Mumhan CCÉ wish to extend our deepest sympathies to the family of the late Eoin Ó Carra, RIP.
A native of Barna, Co. Galway, Eoin has been a stalwart of Comhaltas with his branch in CCÉ Cill Airne and also as an officer of Kerry County Board CCÉ. He was also a member of Comhairle na Mumhan CCÉ serving for a number of years as Munster Membership Registrar and regularly provided assistance and training to Munster branches with the annual membership returns. Eoin was Cathaoirleach of the hugely successful Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan in 2014 which was held in Killarney. Leaba i measc na Naomh go raibh aige.

Comhairle na Mumhan hosted our first provincial Adjudicator's Training Course since 2017 recently in the Devon Inn Hotel, Templeglantine, Co. Limerick. The course was run for new adjudicators of music, singing and Comhrá Gaeilge. Forty participants attended an excellent weekend of tuition, information and guidance on adjudicating at Fleadhanna Cheoil competitions. We are greatly indebted to the Head Office Course Team: Siobhán Ní Chonaráin, Caitríona de Brún, Pat Flanagan, Seán Walsh, Karen Trench, Maura Walsh and Nóirín Ní Shúilleabháin for the preparation of documentation and the manner in which they delivered the course. A number of practical adjudicating sessions were also held during the weekend allowing participants to apply their skills to various adjudicating scenarios. It is anticipated that having gained experience by sitting-in with established adjudicators at this year's Fleadhanna that many of the participants will be added to the national panel in the future.

Comhdháil na Mumhan in full swing in Hibernian Hotel & Leisure Centre

The Annual Convention of Comhairle na Mumhan will be held at the Hibernian Hotel & Leisure Centre , Mallow, Co. Cork tomorrow, 18th February 2024 commencing at 2pm. (Signing in from - 1.30pm.)

Seven superbly talented Under 14 Céilí Bands performed on the stage of Brú Ború Cultural Centre last Sunday in the Munster Ceol an Gheimhridh Céilí Band finals. Congratulations to the prizewinners:
