Dear Body,
You’ve changed.
What happened to you? You used to be strong & capable. Remember when you ran half marathons? Competed in karate tournaments? Did CrossFit every morning? Didn’t have a belly or stretch marks? Where’s your energy? You’ve really gone downhill these past several years. Hurry up and get back to your pre-pregnancy size. It’s already been over a month.

And it’s kind of incredible. You’ve literally created life. When my babies needed more space, you made that happen. You’ve nourished and carried and comforted three babies. You’ve been unstoppable even when you’re tired and worn down. You’ve pushed through pain & illness. You’ve been put through some really difficult challenges. You’ve been stretched. You’ve grown. You’ve worked really hard these past 9 months; these past 31 years really. It’s okay to rest. It’s okay to take time to heal. You’ve been through a lot. Maybe you’re not perfect, but thank you for all you’ve given to me.

You don’t need to wake your baby during the night to change their nappy, unless you can smell otherwise 💩 but if they wake for a feed, you may want to take the opportunity to change them. Remember to apply Care & Protect to help prevent nappy rash and with its handy flip top lid, you won’t need to worry about finding a lost lid in the dark!

It’s quite common for new mums to struggle with their mental health in the first year after giving birth, with 10-15% of new mums experiencing postnatal depression. Here is a reminder of some symptoms to look out for:

💜 Feeling tired all the time and lacking energy, more than just the normal new-mum tiredness.

Sudocrem is a market leading product for treating nappy rash. Clinically proven, it helps to soothe, heal and protect your baby’s delicate skin from further irritation.
Sudocrem has a water-repellent base which forms a protective barrier, therefore helping to stop any irritants (urine and stools) coming into contact with the skin. In addition, the emollient effect of Sudocrem can help to soothe sore inflamed skin whilst leaving the skin feeling soft.
Sudocrem can also be used for other skin conditions that require a soothing, protective antiseptic cream with additional healing, antibacterial and antifungal properties.
Sudocrem contains a number of ingredients and properties, such as:
•hypoallergenic lanolin, to help provide emollient properties
•zinc oxide is an astringent which reduces the loss of tissue fluid
•benzyl benzoate and benzyl cinnamate are amongst the ingredients of Peru Balsam, recognised for its healing properties
•benzyl alcohol is a weak local anaesthetic which acts to ease localised pain and irritation. It also acts as a disinfectant/antibacterial agent and is responsible for protection against common bacterial contaminants.
Sudocrem is available from independent pharmacies, major pharmacy chains, supermarkets and selected children's department stores.
