The Cake Emporium

Well that's the end of an era for The Cake Emporium. Shop is now closed and ill be sorting through stuff I may have free/ for sale but I'll.post that on my personal page. I made my last.wedding cake last weekend and intend to take some time out to get my health back in some sort of order and hopefully feel somewhat better. It's been lovely on Northgate st, I have made some wonderful friends and had some even more wonderful customers. I hope you have enjoyed what I have created and maybe I'll be back to it at some point, who knows.....time will tell !!!

Well I'm a finalist again for 2025, so thanks to everyone which is the icing on the cake considering my current health situation and me closing the shop. But nothing is forever and we will be back with a bang for sure once I get myself straight !!

In the meantime if you would like to vote for me please do....it would be great to bring home a trophy again !!

So after lots of deliberating and reflecting I've decided that keeping the Shop is not an option for me. I have been dealing with some health issues over the past few months and not feeling 100% so my decision to close the shop is based mainly on that. So that means the shop unit is available as a fully kitted out Eho registered unit for cake making and decorating. If anyone knows anyone who is looking to take over a unit in Athenry, fully kitted out then please let contact me through pm. It's been a pleasure to have set up and provided so many people near and far with celebration cakes and wedding cakes over the years. Any orders currently on the books will be honoured. Thanks Aine.

Please share...Monivea show on Sunday

I'm still doing a few weddings over the summer / autumn and this was a beautiful one I recently did...love the pop of blue hydrangea ...my favourite bloom !

I plan on doing more taster boxes early July so if you have booked in or thinking of a wedding booking for this year please arrange a collection date.

Wee update, I'm still here !! I did a few wedding flavour samples this week so that was a wee step back to baking! I'll only be doing wedding cake orders that are taken for the time being until I get myself back to 100% ! I'll leave you with this !!

Just a wee update for ye, i have had to made a few changes going forward due to ongoing health issues and managing my health going forward. I will not be taking any more occassion cake orders for the foreseeable future. I will contact anyone with an order in the book during next next few days to inform of this and refund any deposits.

I will continue to do any wedding cakes i have booked in for the foreseeable future.

This is a hard decision for me to make but i have to compromise and change some work practices in order to keep well. Cakes are very labour intensive and exhausting to do multiple cakes every week , and my health had suffered due to this. This is a compromise that i hope will work and help navigate the next few months.

I apologise in advance to those i have to cancel out ocassion cakes with immediate effect. Its a decision i thought long and hard about and at the moment this is my only way forward.

I hope you understand and i thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your custom.

Ive had to take an enforced break from cakes for a little while due to some health issues that i have been suffering for a while. Ive had a proceedure to help and will be reviewed regularly for any changes. Needless to say i have been stressed and worried, not the best news to get but not the worst either. Not going into too much detail as its personal but safe to say i need a few weeks off and plan to be back with cakes in a week or twos time. I will contact everyone in the meantime, please be understanding its not an easy decision to make, and i do need a bit of a rest, i try my best but i am one person doing all the work and thats hard. Your understanding is appreciated. Ill be in touch today for all next weeks cakes...so please just bear with me. Thanks Aine xx

Well that was alot of hours work there....loads of cake baked, carved and cut, stacked and constructed to make the final building !!! Sheridans pub celebrated their 20th birthday in style...now im shattered so i hope ye had one for me lol !!!

Quality control !! Carrott cake cupcakes included now in wedding sample box !! So nice and fruity and sweet and cinnamony !! Is cinnamony a word ??
