Our U'12A Monster Raffle fundraiser draw took place in Connor's Park this evening. A big thank you to Paul Grant and Kevin Keohan from Park Rangers who were our independent adjudicators for the draw. Thanks also to our MC, Fiachra Cooke who gave a lovely introduction speech before the draw took place. A massive thank you to Rachael Lonergan, Christine Mc'Loughlin, Jen Hughes and Michelle Power who somehow managed the organisation, allocation and tracking of all 104 prizes, winners and sellers. A sincere thank you to the many businesses who sponsored prizes for the raffle, it was incredible from you all. Finally thank you to everyone who bought tickets for the raffle. It has been an amazing success and the boys can now look forward to a fantastic trip to France on the May Bank Holiday weekend. Full list of winners can be found in the comments section below. Munster Junior Cup Round 2 Sponsored by Glorious Sushi Villa 3-1 Tramore A positive performance and well deserved win from our lads last night as we welcomed Tramore to Connors Park. We fell behind very early in the game as a Tramore wide free kick deflected down off the crossbar into the path of their centre forward to give them a one nil lead. We responded well creating plenty of chances but it wasn’t until the stroke of half time that we were able to level the tie where some good work from Adam Conway and Junior Nzongong led to Dean Walsh winning and converting a penalty kick. The second half started in a similar pattern to the first ended with us having plenty of the ball but the first big chance fell to Tramore where they counter attacked from our corner only to see Dylan Nolan make a terrific one on one save to keep the tie level. We kicked on after this and took the lead when John Fred Tamen got to the byline to pull back for Ravelli Kilonda to fire home and give us the lead. The game was made safe a few minutes later when again some great work from Adam Conway led to the ball falling nicely for Dean Walsh whos strike first time from 30 yards found the corner of the net. Next up we’re in FAI Junior Cup action where we travel to Waterford Crystal next Sunday morning. Speedy recovery to skipper Adam Heaslip who suffered a fracture to his forearm late on in the game.
