This time last week I was on a ferry to Holyhead, with a boot full of cakes on our annual trip to This year I brought a bride and groom teddybears for the wonderful lads at CakeFlix, and my competition entry - this year, grandads shed saw me coming home with a silver award! It's back to reality with a bang though, I'm sitting at my table working on quotes and Christmas designs 😂😁

After what feels like forever, I'm back on my feet and the kitchen is open again ☺ This was our Easter cake - the basket was a 7 inch chocolate cake, and was filled with 3 dozen vanilla cookies!

Finally, all my new tools are cleaned and stored away, although I'm fast running out of space! We had another fabulous weekend at Cake International in Birmingham, and managed to come home with not one, but two silver awards! One for my "isomalt bowl with succulents", and one for Isabel with her "bamboo steamer with dumplings" - proud mammy moment, at 15 years old, she decided that it was time to enter the adults section and came home with silver! I had another piece there too, an ice skate, on one of the exhibitor stands - needless to say getting that piece there intact was an achievement in itself! It stands at 12 inches tall, and the blade it rests on is less than 1 inch wide 😳

This time 3 weeks, if your kids are anything like mine were, it will be all about letters to santa and Christmas carols! Between now and then we have my eldests favourite holiday, and here in the kitchen, this year is all about 🎃 and 👻. From boxes of cupcakes, to fondant iced vanilla cookies or gingerbread, or an individual treat box with a mix of everything, it's all treats no tricks!

Not the most glamorous, not the fanciest, but every bit as important (if not moreso). Three dozen of these, along with over 200 gingerbread men and some yummy traybakes went off today to the Fermata Music School Lucan fundraiser concert. It's hard to believe that we only have 2 weeks until the Christmas holidays start! In this house that means cookies, lots and lots of cookies 🥰 Since the kids were tiny, we have always decorated gingerbread cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve, and we would love to share this tradition with your family too 😊 This year we have traditonal gingerbread men, and some fabulous big snowflakes for you to enjoy. It's been a busy couple of weeks between getting the kids back to school and squeezing in a few days off to spend up at the amazingly beautiful Antrim coast. Here are some of my favourites from the last few weeks, including a pokeball for my youngest (I'm not allowed call him my baby any more!) and a flower pot for me!

Mr. Middle Kiddo is finishing up primary school today, so there had to be cake! The pictures around the cakes are pieces of artwork from each of the boys in 6th class :-)

It was my mums birthday last week, we went with a lemon cake, lemond curd, and lemon buttercream combination, topped off with meringues, raspberries, and more lemon curd😊

If your house is anything like our house, you've been waiting for the announcement for confirmation dates. The wait for us is over, and middle kiddo has a couple of weeks to decide what kind of cake he would like!
