According to Emanuel Shahaf, vice-chair of the Israel Indonesia Chamber of Commerce, this visit was different from previous delegations to because it followed months of trust-building meetings via Zoom, making face-to-face meetings in more productive. It also gave participants the chance to consider more and bigger projects.

The initiative, he said, “enables a slow and controlled build-up of relationships between vastly different cultures. By the time we actually meet, apprehensions and concerns have mostly been dealt with and relatively smooth sailing lies ahead.”

In July, the Israel-Asia Center led an Israeli delegation to .

Indonesia is the world's largest Muslim-majority country, the world's 4th most populous country, and projected to become the world's fifth largest economy by 2030.

Despite the lack of diplomatic ties between Israel and Indonesia, tremendous untapped potential exists between the two countries in sectors such as , , , , , , and more.

Interactions with our Indonesian counterparts were warm, positive, INSPIRING and opened our eyes to the future we can build between our two nations.
