Our Robocup Winners - Off to Japan!
They're on their way to JAPAN! OUR WINNERS - ROBOCUP ROBOTICS JUNIOR COMPETITION Our 4 teams won the Israeli Robocup nationals, in the Rescue League. Rescue robots are vital in saving lives where human rescuers cannot go. FIRST PLACE for ages 11 - 14 AND ages 15 - 19 went to Givat Ram Sci-Tech School's teams, Jerusalem. Next stop, the International Robocup Finals in Japan! WATCH THEIR VIDEO as their autonomous robot (no remote controls allowed!) weaves its way through an obstacle course, arms waving. #Robotics #Robocup #STEMeducation

Givatayim Sci-Tech School wins the international Roboner Robot...
Our WINNERS of the International ROBONER ROBOTICS COMPETITION, Connecticut, USA Our electronics-robotics students at Givatayim Sci-Tech School achieved third place in the prestigious Roboner Robotics competition at Trinity College; and first place amongst the Israeli delegation participating this year. This ten-man team sent their robots into a maze to rescue a (toy) dog. Robots are crucial when humans cannot enter a dangerous situation or tough terrain. What makes Roboner's Trinity College robotics competition different from others is that only autonomous robots are invited – intelligent robots programmed to operate independently and to respond in a particular way to outside stimuli; no remote controls are involved. WATCH THIS VIDEO for THE NAIL-BITING MOMENTS AT THE COMPETITION. #STEMeducation #Robotics #Israel

This team's CPR device is taking them to Los Angeles!
You have to see this video! Our winning YOUNG SCIENTISTS AND DEVELOPERS are saving lives with their inventions, in this case, CPR Bridge on-the-spot resuscitation device. This creative team made a video showing how their device saves precious minutes often lost when a person stops breathing up until an ambulance arrives. Their CPR Bridge does the job, thanks to these super keen students from at Greenberg Sci-Tech School, Kiryat Tivon. Read our other posts about our winners of the national Intel competition. They will compete in the Intel Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Los Angeles! You can also read about our previous international NASA and Intel Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) winners and our long-standing partnership with Intel Israel. #STEMeducation #Israel #ISEF

PolliDrone Inventors Speak
Their DRONE pollinates FLOWERS! A few posts back we described this invention by Modiin Sci-Tech School's Young Engineers - they devised a drone that pollinates flowers. Scientists worldwide are worried that declining bee populations will impact food supply, but the students' Pollidrone may be the solution. They are Dean Goldfarb, Eitan Nussbaum, Yonatan Cohen and Noam Avishar. Watch their video here. #STEMeducation #Israel

Fire detection system - Greenberg Sci-Tech School
FIRE DETECTION IS CRITICAL in Israel's hot summers. Winners of Young Engineers Competition - Second place went to a team of enthusiastic Greenberg Sci-Tech schools (Kiryat Tivon) with their FIRE DETECTION device. This video shows how the camera scans the open area. At first it doesn't detect a small fire but as it continues scanning and the fire grows, a green frame alerts the system. On the computer screen - the location. The final map shows the system's location and the actual location of the fire. The students' system was HIGHLY ACCURATE - it identified the fire just 3 meters away from where the fire was! #stemeducation # educationinisrael

Ramat Yosef Sci-Tech School wins national Space Lab competition
On their way to NASA! Ramon Foundation's Space Lab competition - our next winners Student reps from two winning teams spoke confidently on TV about their exciting projects. Ramat Yosef Sci-Tech School are two of our 5 schools that won the national finals of the Ramon Foundation's Space Lab competition. Should they win the international Space Lab competition, their experiment will be conducted by a cosmonaut 400 miles above earth! This video is in Hebrew, but the girls' enjoyment of their projects shine through.

Our young national entrepreneurial winners
National winners of the Entrepreneurial Industrial Prize invented a LIPSTICK to PREVENT DATE RAPE Our young entrepreneurs and their team invented a solution to a disturbing worldwide phenomenon: a man secretly sneaks date-rape drug Rohypnol (a heavy sleeping pill) into a woman's drink, and when she is drugged, kidnaps and rapes her. If the wearer sips her drink and her lips start stinging, it's a sign that the drink has been laced with the drug. Hence it's name, Lipsting. The lipstick works for 8 to 12 hours. Yarden Kedem and Noam Tamir are 9th grade students at Modi'n Sci-Tech School, and their innovation won their team first place in the national "Blue-White" competition, where contestants develop new product ideas thanks to a partnership between the Yeadim Institute and Ministry of Economy and Industry. "In case people think the lipstick is only for girls, we made it in pink, red and clear so that boys can use it too," they explained to Orly and Guy. Their team won because they have a viable product to market. The girls are on the i-STEAM (innovation-Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) track - if you haven't heard about our groundbreaking i-STEAM program, search earlier posts on our page. High-tech with heart - that's Israel Sci-Tech Schools! Their interview aired on the popular TV show, Orly and Guy. You will enjoy the girls' sincerity and pride in this video (even if you don't understand Hebrew).
