Franz Beckenbauer once said, “It is not the strong one that wins, the one that wins is strong.” This quote reflects his attitude and philosophy on the field, as well as in life.
And today, football has died, with all of the strength. Immortal Legacy for the Kaiser.
RIP Beckenbauer
If Pele was "O Rey", Mario Zagallo was the ambassador of the Brazilian legacy in the World Cup.
Throughout his illustrious career, Mario Zagallo left an enduring legacy by winning the FIFA World Cup as a player in 1958 and 1962, then achieving unprecedented success as a coach in 1970, solidifying his status as a Brazilian football icon.
RIP LEGEND

🌟 Remembering a timeless legacy! 🌟 Though fate didn't let him etch his name as a champion, he'll forever be celebrated as one of the game's most charismatic coaches. England and Catalonia mourned his passing yesterday at 80, but his contagious smile lives on in our hearts. 😢🙏

"No words...just a place in the bottom of the heart. Hello Ago" Agostino Di Bartolomei 8/5/1955 – 30/5/1994
The Tragedy of Roma Legend Agostino Di Bartolomei
On May 30th, 1994, former Roma captain Agostino Di Bartolomei committed su***de, shooting himself at his villa in San Marco di Castellabate. Strikingly, it was exactly 10 years after Roma had lost the 1984 European Cup Final to Liverpool on penalties at the Stadio Olimpico. Di Bartolomei had described that match as "the game of his life" - a painful defeat on home soil that haunted him a decade later.
Di Bartolomei's Career and 1984 Final
A shy but brilliant midfielder, Di Bartolomei was a Roma legend who played alongside greats like Falcao, Ancelotti and Bruno Conti. Together they won the Scudetto in 1983, ending a 40-year drought. Di Bartolomei was tactically versatile - excelling as a deep-lying playmaker or sweeper. Renowned for elegance on the ball and playmaking vision, he was the heartbeat of Roma's midfield.
As captain in the 1984 final against Liverpool, Di Bartolomei was man of the match, outshining his frozen teammates. He created danger whenever in possession. The game was poised at 1-1 after extra time when it went to penalties. Though Di Bartolomei scored his penalty, Roma lost as Conti and Graziani missed theirs. Liverpool controversially claimed the cup as the referee missed a foul on Roma's keeper on the tying goal.
The Aftermath and Tragedy
Inexplicably after the final, manager Eriksson allowed Di Bartolomei to leave for AC Milan, a transfer he opposed. Just a month later, he scored the winner for Milan against Roma, his enduring love. With Sacchi's arrival in 1987, Di Bartolomei left Milan and retired in 1990. Roma offered nothing to their loyal captain of 15 years.
Struggling to adjust post-football, Di Bartolomei suffered severe depression and financial troubles as businesses failed. The 10-year anniversary of his greatest match seemingly prompted his su***de decision, though his note cited loan denial and money problems. An icon abandoned in death by Roma, his funeral drew only former teammates.
The Painful Legacy
Teammate Bruno Conti vowed Roma would one day avenge the loss Di Bartolomei suffered the most from. 34 years later, Roma finally gets the chance to face Liverpool again. But the club should remember their legend who lost everything over one game - Agostino Di Bartolomei.
