Can you believe these magical translucent shells, with their parametric texture, were created by 3D printing?

Camouflage, 2018
Neck piece
Enamel, sterling silver, cooper, steel

Carnivorous plants are the source of inspiration for the piece. The colorful scene of the necklace is facing inside, towards the neck, while the exterior dimension is merging with the body. The piece camouflages a woman’s sensuality, yet the agitated veil reveals her longing and passionate soul.

“Alchemy”
Neck piece, 2019
Nylon, PLA, brass
Vered Kaminski Class, Bezalel

Photo: Dan Simantov

The research for the piece started with the idea of jewelry as a symbol in Karl Jung’s meaning. Other connected Jungian concepts were alchemy as a model for spiritual transformation, mandala, geometry, the artwork as a symbol and more. I chose to simulate developmental stages through four rectangles that contain miniature 3d-printed constructions. The elements that make up these constructions are based on the symbolic content of Modern art

From Musicology to Art jewelry

Instagram yael.kaduri

I have come to the field of contemporary jewelry in recent years, as a continuation of a varied academic career. I am teaching at the Department of Visual and Material Culture at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, and soon I will complete my undergraduate studies in the Jewelry Department at Bezalel. My academic research concerns the interconnection between music and image from philosophical and historical points of view. My rich theoretical world influences my creative work – consciously and unconsciously. In my jewelry I create relations between sub-components into a whole structure, and try to combine a sense of movement within constructions. The inspiration that I draw from nature gives my work, in addition to the geometric aspect, an organic aspect that is expressed in formal and material development. This kind of duality is also evident in my work process. Reflective research is for me a source of inspiration to intuitive drawing that can generate an object. On the other hand, 3D software opened up for me a new possibility of organizing the 3D space with respect to the body. In addition to using traditional jewelry techniques such as soldering, casting and enamel, I research and explore unconventional options of combining 3D printing with jewelry design in a way that can be called digital craft. I make the 3D prints myself in a home printer, which allows me to experiment with unique techniques, diverse materials and tiny dimensions, and combining those with classical techniques.
