Visited a lifetime ago last Century but in colour it is just a walk away from the Gateway to India and beautiful Elephantine Island! Never forgotten colourful India!

The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Bombay was turned into a 600-bed hospital during World War I, from 1914 to 1918. The hotel, which opened 113 years ago on December 16, 1903, charged its first 17 guests ₹10 for single room and ₹13 for rooms with attached bathrooms and fans. It was built by Jamsetji Tata for over ₹40 lakhs.
