Can u guess what this is?

The most fascinating thing that occurs every once in a while when we don't expect them to.. its life!

Our arbi roots have taken a life without us doing much. We love the fact that life emerges even in the harshest of circumstances and gives all of us a chance to live and explore this beautiful earth. These arbi shoots were kept in a jar in a dark place and when we found them today, tiny shoots had emerged.

We have planted all these and we wait and hope that they find the right nourishing environment to grow to their full capacity. Update to follow soon!

you all also have a fascinating day ahead! 🙂😍

"Since childhood, my hair is one of the things I was known by and till date the story continues. I was raised on the age-old regimes of sitting between the knees of my nani or dadi and sometimes chachi and getting my hair and scalp massaged for hours and continue the tradition till today."

The only difference is that those times the oils were specially prepared by adding almonds , amla, etc. But today one doesn't know what you get in these packed bottles. But ever since I started using Advait products, all my fears are washed away.

The products are pure and genuine, and I not only use for my hair and skin care but also as super food for children and family. Advait products are part of our daily routine. All their products organically produced. We use coconut oil for oil pulling as our daily ayurvedic routine and can easily vouch for its purity and same goes for their honey.

Even their cheese is simply amazing, and the kids favorite, and the list goes on.

Thank you Advait for our well being and giving us a healthy life."

This delicious sun baked gulkand is and ayurvedic remedy that has been used for centuries as a digestive. Indians have lost the rich knowledge and wisdom of our forefathers due to western influence. But we are slowly finding our way back! Nothing is stronger than finding one's own roots.

Gulkand is used extensively in desi pan. You can get desi pan leaves from your local panwala. They sell them lose as well.

Gulkand pan can be consumed post meals easily.

Thank you for sharing this amazing recipe.

Reposted from A pan after a heavy meal can do wonders!
Pan is an antacid, good for digestion, chunna in pan is a good source of calcium, and is alkaline . Gulukand is a good source of iron and relives constipation.

Cute local finds.. carrots, cabbage, corn, bamboo shoot and pineapple are the seasons favorite right now! Pear 🍐 is loaded on trees.. getting ready to ripe. And wild liles are blooming everywhere.. Bamboo shoots are being harvested and we hope to find some harvest in process to bring home.

Who agrees that home-cooked meal is largely far more satisfying and soulful than any outside food?

We prepared this lovely meal for friend who was visiting India after a very long time. We decided to serve it on fresh banana leaves (from the trees growing in our backyard). Eating on banana leaves is not only a traditional ritual in our house but it is also based on hard core science.

Banana leaf have polyphenols that are packed with antioxidants. These polyphenol have a crucial role to play in our bodies. They fight off oxidative stress which is responsible for many lifestyle diseases and aging. Food served on banana leaf absorbs these powerful polyphenols and deliver it to our bodies 😃

Banana leaves are also believed to have anti-bacterial properties that help in protecting the food from being ruined by germs or bacteria. The food present on these leaves thus remains free from any germs or contamination and helps in keeping you healthy and prevents the chances of falling sick.

In ancient times, people followed very healthy routines with their major focus being directed towards eating healthy, hygienic, and fresh food and that is why banana leaves were used back in those days.

We really had a lovely time preparing this meal and serving it on banana leaves. It was a day filled with some laughter and nutrition.

If you are looking to switch to optimal metabolic health, switching back to traditional rituals is a great place to start!

Do share your loving stories with us as well. Have a great day! ❤🌞

Our dearest and most passionate friend has put together this useful and highly functional list of products that she uses for her son . We are honored to be part of this list. Please check out all the products in our stories. Hope you find them useful as well!

Reposted from Sharing a list of personal care products we’ve been using for Abir (some of them are mine like the Betty Lipbalm & Sunscreen, but they are so good and so safe that kids can use them!).

Coconut oil - a good coconut oil can be used for multiple things and you don’t need much if you have it. This coconut oil from is the bomb!

Not all these are specifically kids products, but anyone can use them.

All these brands are sustainable, have plastic free packaging and use natural safe ingredients. I totally swear by them!

Traditional india desi chana is a powerhouse of nutrients. Desi Kala chana- have complex carbs that digest slowly and the soluble fibre in it regulates the absorption of sugars into the blood. The low glycemic index of chickpeas is 28, and it prevents sudden spike in blood sugars, keeps you satiated for longer hours thus avoiding hunger pangs.

One can easily sprout these legumes. Boil it and sautê it for a yummy breakfast or make a delicious chickpea salad -

⭐Dice tons of onions, cucumber, tomatoes and capsicum
⭐Add a bowl of boiled Kala Chana to it
⭐Add some diced seasonal mangoes or anar
⭐Garnish with cilantro
⭐Add some coldpressed flaxseed oil, rock salt, lemon juice, unrefined cane sugar and vinegar
⭐Mix it well and Voila.. its a yummilicious fibre-rich meal..

Let our pastels soak you in gentleness.

You would notice our gulals are soft pastel shades. These are a reflection of natural flowers and herbs. When we make gulals from these, we are unable to get ultra bright or vibrant colors. Vibrancy usually comes from adding food colors or other dyes.

Our efforts remain to bring traditional methods to the forefront largely because they are more sustainable in nature. They usually require less industrial energy to produce and are non-polluting as well.

Moreover.. these gentle mix are also easy on the skin and hair! Its pretty simple to wash off!

We hope you love them as much as we do too.. ❤

These two self care routines have been traditional in our home for as long as we can remember..

1. Get up and the first thing you do on Holi morning is lather yourself with a good oil. I can someone remember coconut oil as the go to oil for this. We would lather every inch of our skin with dollops of it. And a good and indulgent hair massage was equally important. I didn't mind dripping in oil because, I was sure, that was far better than getting the colours stuck on my skin! I am sure we smell like coconuts when we walk out every holi! Protecting our skin and hair were far more a priority than just playing holi. This tradition is still strong!

2. Bathe only with Ubtan with dollops of curd. I never really appreciate the power of a gentle ubtan as I do on holi. It is such a magical mix. Nothing works on my skin better than ubtan and curd. It never fails to wash off even the most difficult colour stains stuck behind my ears, neck or nails. Soaps always dry my skin and they even create more abrasions when we have to repeatedly wash off on holi. Our granny always made this ubtan for us and I have taken a bath with ubtans on holi for as long as I can remember.

Bringing these two beautiful products for you, specially for holi. We hope you can indulge in this natural and potent self-care and instantly feel fresh, nourished and clean. Prevent your skin and hair from any damage with these two essentials.

This makes our day.. when your dearest friends support and uplift you!  My oldest and dearest friend , with whom I have shared many ups and downs, and more importantly, talked over years about the climate anxiety we both have felt! It's wonderful to see how our lives are now more focused on building than being anxious. Its more about what we can do, instead of what is happening.

This change is a reflection of our internal growth and acceptance. I am so glad to have you in my life! And Abir makes it even more adorable!! I truly hope, enjoys his holi in more colourful ways than I can imagine.

Ps: Incase abir decides to play dry holi, he can use these beautiful water colours as soil boosters, since he loves his greens! Just dilute in one bucket and use.  These are great nourishers for the plants as well. 🌼🌺

Reposted from My dearest friend Meenakshi, who runs a regenerative farm in Agra sent us a kit of natural colors for holi! I’m so thrilled to see these!

The kit contains powdered gulals in different colours as well as water colors! I’ve never seen natural water colours for holi before this.

All colors are made from flowers and vegetables, there are no nasty chemicals making all these colors perfectly safe, especially for kids and of course, the earth :)

A great option for holi - link on ’s bio.

In Bombay, you get also get the colors at

Sustainable Packaging: The kit is packed in 100% recycled materials. The gulals are packed in seed paper that is handcrafted made using waste cotton scrap and has seeds of small plants embedded in it. It is wood free, sustainable and recycled. It also includes a set of postcards, made from seed paper. This amazing seed paper packaging is by .store

The water colours come in glass bottles. The outer box is made with 100% recycled kraft paper box and is shipped plastic-free across India.

Isn't it rather wonderful for our Indian festivals to be tied to seasons?! Holi really is about the changing season - from winter to spring. You notice the leaves changing colours, flowers blooming, the nip of air changing to warmer notes.. its brilliant to just sit in the open and observe!

North India, around our farm, has exquisite weather presently. Its clean, brisk and nippy. You can spend the whole day and even nights out in the open air. We are very grateful for this luxury.

Lets celebrate holi in the same fervor. Traditionally season's freshest flowers, herbs and vegetables were used to make holi gulals and colours. Thats what we have done! Bringing all the beautiful things together to get these pastels for Holi, could not have been more satisfying.

We use fresh roses, marigolds, tesu, orchids, turmeric, beets, majith and others to make highest quality holi colours.

This year, we have launched traditional holi liquid colours as well. We love them and are 100% sure you will fall in love with them as well!

We hope you have a beautiful, fun-filled and joyous Holi! Incase you don't play holi because you are worried about your skin and hair.. we do really assure you, these gulals and water colours are 100% safe and gentle. No harm will come your way.. Do a patch test to check today!

Our holi collection is now available on our website. Link in bio!
