Skywalk project worth Rs. 63 crore will start soon outside Gurdwara Shaheedan Sahib, Amritsar. The length of the skywalk will be 460 meters from Gurdwara Ramsar to Chattiwind Chowk & 6 meters wide & 7 meters high from the road. There would be 16 staircases, 16 escalators and seven lifts in the skywalk plaza. Around 40,000 to 50,000 devotees visit Gurdwara sahib everyday & most of them have to cross the road to reach Gurdwara sahib which leads to frequent minor altercations & regular traffic jam. This skywalk will be a huge relief to the devotees & the administration.

Amritsar is forgetting its rich heritage which should be a concern for the city today. In an effort to modernize & development, people are ignoring the old architecture & historical buildings. Most of these buildings are located in the walled city around Sri Harmandir Sahib. You can still find beautiful work on the wooden windows & doors, engraved ceilings, paintings on the walls, frescos & murals on these old buildings & structures but they surely need immediate attention, renovation & restoration. We would request the government & the people of the city to help restore the rich heritage & architecture of the city for the generations to come.

Congratulations to Amritsar's Lovepreet Singh for winning the Bronze medal in in the 109kg weight category. He sets a National Record by lifting 163kg in Sn**ch & 192kg in Clean & Jerk (Total-355kg).

Harike Pattan - The largest wetland in North India & the second largest bird sanctuary in India located just 36 miles from Amritsar is a famous & perfect picnic spot for families. It is also a leading fish market & abode to a wide range of birds and animals. It came into existence in 1953 and got significance in 1978 when the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India and the Government of Punjab jointly took care of its maintenance.
