Anantnag gunfight: Two unidentified militants killed, operation on `Anantnag Jul 10 (KNO): Two unidentified militants have been killed in an encounter that broke out between militants and security forces at Kawarigam village of Achabal hamlet in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Saturday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint team of Police, Army's 19 RR and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area. He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter. In the ensuing gunfight, two unidentified militants have been killed while the operation is going on in the area—(KNO)

Body of minor boy fished out from river in Budgam Budgam, Jul 09 (KNO): The body of a 12-year-old boy, who drowned while taking bath in Narbal area of Central Kashmir's Budgam district on Friday afternoon, was fished out. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the body was fished out hours after he drowned into the river Jeel today. He said the minor boy, who had come to his maternal home at Ghat Narbal, drowned while taking bath with his friends. He identified the deceased as Furqan Ahmad Tabardar of Parimpora Srinagar. The official said that the body will be handed over to the family after all medico-legal formalities—(KNO)
