Shawwal Moon Not Sighted, Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday: Grand M***i, J&K, Nasir-ul-Islam

Srinagar, Apr 20: The crescent for the month of Shawwal 1444 A.H has not been sighted anywhere in Jammu and Kashmir, Grand M***i Nasir-ul-Islam said here on Thursday evening.

Talking to GNS, Islam said there was no testimony from anywhere regarding the sighting of crescent, leading this office to conclude that the Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on Saturday across Jammu and Kashmir.

The Grand M***i has extended in advance his warm Eid greetings to the whole Ummah and especially to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “May this auspicious eve brings with it a lot of joy, happiness, peace and prosperity to all of us”, Islam said.

The rate of increase of drug addiction is so high in the valley that experts are warning that after one generation lost to bullets another may be lost to drugs. The survey has also revealed that most of the drug abusers are in the age group of 17-33 years. Unemployed youth are one of the main consumers of these drugs. And the number of drug abusers in the valley has crossed 67000, while 33000 are injected he**in using syringes.
Make urinary drug screening (UDS) compulsory for all school boys or parents should do it at home, irrespective of the level of trust you have in your child. Even traffic police should do it for suspicious bikers and drivers. Test is simple. Put urine drop on the UDS kit and you will come to know the result in minutes. Test kits are easily available in most hospitals and shops.
