Arab world moves closer to India. Pakistan bye bye.
UAE has stopped issuing visa to Pakistanis because of security reasons, say reports. The gulf is gradually pulling away from Pakistan and coming closer to India.
Pakistan has done enough, and more to disappoint its Arab allies.
But there are likely more reasons behind Arab World shunning Pakistan
Firstly, there is Pakistan's obsession with Kashmir. This obsession has been there since 1947. Pakistan has fought wars, framed its foreign policies around Kashmir, exported terror to Kashmir, moved world bodies over Kashmir.
And after India abolished the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan threatened the OIC Chair, Saudi Arabia just because it refused to hold a special session over Kashmir.
But Pakistan's threats to Riyadh were duly registered and that is one of the reasons why gulf countries sidelined Pakistan.
The gulf has grown to realise that anchoring ties on religion alone will not give it long term allies.
There are other aspects that the Arab world needs to acknowledge when picking sides between India and Pakistan.
The gulf has grown to realise that it needs to have India by its side as it heads into the future, opens up its economy and normalises ties with countries like Israel.
Saudi Arabia's bilateral trade with India amounts to USD 33.07 billion.
With Pakistan the number in 2017-18 was USD 1.8 billion.
The India-UAE bilateral trade stands at USD 60 billion. While Pakistan's trade volume with UAE stands at 8 billion dollars.
India is a vital economic partner of the gulf, With annual trade amounting to nearly 100 billion dollars. India also comes with far too many avenues of cooperation, From technology to oil.
India also offers investment opportunities, something that a bleeding economy like Pakistan does not.
West Asia is investing in India, and Indian companies have partnerships with their gulf counterparts.
At least 8 million Indians work in the region. Over 2.2 million of them work in the UAE alone.
So India has a multi-faceted relationship with the gulf countries. But Pakistan has questionable reputation. It is the world's biggest terror exporter. It is home to terror groups like Jamat ud-Dawah, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, the Hizbul Mujahideen
Ron Malka informed that Israel is planning a memorial for 26/11 victims in Eilat in the southern coastal city of Israel.
Israel envoy to India Ron Malka gave a stern message saying there should be zero-tolerance against any kind of terrorism and urged world leaders to unite for the cause.
Speaking on the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack and Pakistan's involvement, he said any country supporting terrorism should be eliminated.
This comes after India on Monday briefed foreign diplomats and expressed concern about Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in the backdrop of another foiled terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Nagrota district.
According to sources, Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla briefed a select group of Heads of Missions (HOMs) on the planned terrorist attack, which was foiled by Indian forces on November 19.
He said, "We stand with the families of the victims.

Post Nagrota encounter, security forces stress on need for full body truck scanner
After the Nagrota encounter in which four terrorists who were hidden in an apple truck were killed, the security forces are stressing the need for installing full-body truck scanners on specific check posts in Jammu and Kashmir.
"The terrorists were hiding in an apple truck and could be intercepted and killed as the Jammu and Kashmir police had pin-point information about their movement," government sources told ANI.
However, during the apple harvesting season in the Kashmir valley, a large number of such trucks ply between Kashmir and other parts of the neighboring states and they can be used for ferrying terrorists and weapons, they added.
Sources said, checking these vehicles by unloading all apple cartons is done on a random basis but all the trucks cannot be checked properly in the absence of such full-body truck scanning machines, they said.
Sources further stated that such machines can help in checking goods vehicles and without affecting the traffic flow on highways, proper checking can be done and security risks can be averted.

UNSC has become an impaired organ: India
India on Monday said that the United Nations Security Council had become an “impaired organ” and failed to act in a credible manner due to its unrepresentative nature. India’s Permanent Representative to the UN TS Tirumurti made the remark while speaking at the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Tirumurti spoke about how the Intergovernmental Negotiations framework, which is a group of nation-states working to bring about reforms within the UN Security Council, had not achieved anything substantial. “Inside the IGN, nothing has moved for more than a decade except hearing passionate statements on the need for reform,” he said.
The ambassador added: “IGN has become like a platform for debate in a university rather than a serious resulted-oriented process in the United Nations consisting of sovereign member states.”
Without taking names, Tirumurti said that a “handful of countries” were stopping the Intergovernmental Negotiations framework from progressing. “They are using the IGN as a smoke-screen to stop themselves from being identified by paying lip-service to Security Council reform,” he added.

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order banning Americans from investing in 31 Chinese firms that the administration says are owned or controlled by the Chinese military.
The Executive Order, which was signed by Trump on Thursday, prohibits certain purchases involving publicly traded securities or any securities that are derivative of or are designed to provide investment exposure to such securities of any Communist Chinese military company.
China is increasingly exploiting US capital to resource and to enable the development and modernisation of its military, intelligence, and other security apparatuses, which continues to allow China to directly threaten the US homeland and US forces overseas, including by developing and deploying weapons of mass destruction, advanced conventional weapons, and malicious cyber-enabled actions against the US and its people, Trump said in his executive order.
India, China Agree On 3-Step Disengagement Plan In Pangong: Report
India and China have readied a three-phase plan for disengagement in eastern Ladakh where the two sides have been in a stand-off since May this year, senior government sources have said.
However, there is no signature or agreement on the plan's implementation as yet, the sources said. No time period has been agreed upon within which to implement the plan; neither is the extent to which it will happen decided between the two sides.
The disengagement includes the Chinese and Indian forces pulling back armour - tanks and armoured personnel carriers from close to the Line of Actual Control. The Chinese would return to the Finger 8 region on the North Bank of the Pangong Lake, vacating their existing positions. India, in turn, would return to its pre-existing position prior to when the tension began.
India would move back forces on the South Bank of Pangong where India dominates the heights to positions before the tension began.
India's been watchful ever since the Galwan valley clash in June this year in which 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives, as did many Chinese soldiers, including a commanding officers
The Indian security establishment, including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane, and Air Force chief RKS Bhadauria, had responded with strong military measures like occupying the dominating heights along the southern and northern bank of Pangong Lake on the LAC.
While China mobilised its troops in a massive deployment along the LAC, India moved close to 60,000 troops for forward deployments, besides bringing in reserve divisions.

Democrat Joe Biden has won the US Presidential election, beating incumbent President Donald Trump in a nail-biting finish clinched after he gained a lead in the state of Pennsylvania.
Kamala Harris, Biden's running mate, is set to become the first woman Vice-President in US history.
Biden had earlier won the battleground prizes of Michigan and Wisconsin, while gaining a lead in the key state of Georgia. With a win in the former two states, he reclaimed a key part of the "blue wall" that slipped away from Democrats four years ago.
As for Georgia, if he wins, Biden will be the first Democrat to win from that state since 1992. Earlier in the day, Biden's leads had dramatically narrowed President Donald Trump's pathway to re-election.
UK will beat covid-19 like Lord Rama and sita defeated Ravana: PM Boris Johnson inaugurats virtual Diwali festival.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson drew parallels between the festival of Diwali and Britain's fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic. Johnson made the remarks during his inaugural address for 'iGlobal Diwali Fest 2020'.
"While undoubtedly there are huge challenges ahead, I have every confidence in the resilience and resolve and good sense of people across the country and that together we will overcome this virus, just as Diwali teaches us that light triumphs over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance," UK PM Boris Johnson said addressing the country from his official residence, 10 Downing Street in London on Friday.
Drawing parallels between the triumph of good over evil as signified by the festival of lights, Johnson said, "Jsust as Lord Rama and his wife Sita found their way home after the defeat of the demon king Ravana, their way lit by many millions of lamps, so too we shall find our way through this, and we shall do so triumphantly."
UK PM Boris Johnson also took note of the fact that the festival of Diwali will be celebrated amid lockdown restrictions in Britain. In fact, he went further to praise the Indian community in the UK for the sacrifices they may have to make to ensure a safe and secure Diwali in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
