The 21-year-old from Punjab claimed the crown edging out Paraguay's Nadia Ferreira and South Africa's Lalela Mswane.

India's Harnaaz Sandhu Brings Home Miss Universe Crown After 21 Years Harnaaz Sandhu is the new Miss Universe, 21 years after Lara Dutta won the title in 2000. Ms Sandhu represented India today at the 70th Miss Universe 2021, held in Eilat, Israel.

General Bipin Rawat (16 March 1958 – 8 December 2021) was a four-star general of the Indian Army. He was the first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of India.
He was the third officer from the Gorkha Brigade to become the Chief of the Army Staff, after Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw and General Dalbir Singh Suhag. He was also the honorary General of the Nepalese Army.
During his career of nearly 43 years, he was awarded for gallantry and distinguished service with the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Uttam Yudh Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Yudh Seva Medal, Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, the COAS Commendation on two occasions and the Army Commander’s Commendation.

The 37-year-old Parag Agrawal succeeded Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, who announced on Monday that he was stepping down.

A graduate of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mr Agrawal has a PhD in computer science from Stanford University.

Before joining Twitter, he had worked at Microsoft, Yahoo and US telecoms giant AT&T in various research roles.

All his previous assignments have been away from the prying eyes, but with his new appointment, Mr Agrawal has gone from relative obscurity to a major public figure overnight and every move he makes now will be carefully watched.

Rajkumari Amrit Kaur Ahluwalia (2 February 1887 – 6 February 1964) was an Indian activist and politician.

Following her long-lasting association with the Indian independence movement, she was appointed the first Health Minister of India in 1947 and remained in office until 1957. She played an instrumental role in the establishment of All India Institute of Medical Science, Delhi.

She also held the charge of Sports Minister and Urban Development Minister and was instrumental in setting up the National Institute of Sports, Patiala.

During her tenure, Kaur ushered in several healthcare reforms in India and is widely remembered for her contributions to the sector and her advocacy of women's rights. Kaur was also a member of the Constituent Assembly of India, the body that framed the Constitution of India.

Methane emissions from human activity are the second-largest driver of global warming, accounting for roughly 30 percent of the temperature increase from preindustrial levels.

The bad news is that methane emissions have risen by about 25 percent in the past 20 years.
The five industries, which together account for 98 percent of humanity’s methane emissions, are agriculture, oil and gas, coal mining, solid-waste management, and wastewater management.

Industries could reduce methane emissions with proven technologies at a manageable cost.

Britain became the first country to approve and recommended the drug, molnupiravir, for use in people with mild to moderate COVID-19.

It will be administered as soon as possible following a positive COVID-19 test and within five days of the onset of symptoms, the regulator said, citing clinical data.

Viral sequencing done so far has shown molnupiravir is effective against all variants of the coronavirus, Merck has said, including the more-infectious Delta, which is responsible for the worldwide surge in hospitalisations and deaths recently.
