MUCOCELE is a small Water filled Baloon like swelling seen on lips and inside of cheecks.

LEUKOPLAKIA or WHITE PATCH of Mouth

-Leukoplakia of mouth is seen as an adverse effect in people chewing or smoking To***co.
-It has high chances of developing into Mouth cacer, if not treated or habit not stopped.
-It appears as white, thick, corrugated patch like area in mouth, which with time may turn red. Even due to pan/gutka stains it appears red or brown.
-It is usually seen at and adjacent to the site where one keeps the to***co quid and in smokers it's seen in inner aspect of cheek.

Alanine Transaminase (ALT/SGPT)- an enzyme found in the Liver that helps your body metabolize protein. When the Liver is damaged, ALT is released into the
bloodstream and levels increase.

Aspartate Transaminase (AST/SGOT)- an enzyme that helps metabolize Alanine, an amino acid. Like ALT, AST is normally present in blood at low levels. An increasein AST levels may indicate Liver damage or disease or Muscle damage.

Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP)- an enzyme in the Liver, bile ducts and bone. Higher-than-normal levels of ALP may indicate liver damage or disease, such as ablocked bile duct, or certain bone diseases.

Albumin and Total Protein- Albumin is one of several proteins made in the Liver. Your body needs these proteins to fight infections and to perform otherfunctions. Lower-than-normal levels of albumin and total protein might indicate Liver damage or disease.

Bilirubin- a substance produced during the normal breakdown of red blood cells. Bilirubin passes through the liver and is excreted in stool. Elevated levels ofbilirubin (jaundice) might indicate liver damage or disease or certain types of anemia.

Gamma-Glutamyltransferase (GGT)- GGT is an enzyme in the blood. Higher-than-normal levels may indicate liver or bile duct damage.

LIVER FUNCTION TESTS are blood tests used to
-Help diagnose and monitor Liver disease or damage.
- Screen for Liver infections, such as Hepatitis. m

SGPT (Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase) is another test done with SGOT in Liver Profile/ Liver Function Test (LFT) to find the levels of another enzyme Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase is also known as Alanine transaminase (ALT).
GPT or ALT though like SGOT, found in other organs too, its highest concentration is seen in liver.
So along with SGOT if levels of SGPT (ALT) is also increased , then it indicates dysfunction/disease orndamage of liver.

The SGOT or AST test measures the level of liver enzyme Serum Glutamic-Oxaloacetic Transaminase (also k/a Aspartate Aminotransferase) in the blood.
Usually it is a part of a Liver Profile / Liver Function Test (LFT) & is used to diagnose liver damage or liver disease.

When liver cells are damaged, SGOT leaks into the blood stream, raising its level.

SGOT is also found in other organs like kidneys, muscles, heart & brain and their damaged may also increase SGOT levels.

Extremely high levels of SGOT/AST indicate conditions that cause severe liver damage like Acute viral hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Shock, Collapse of the circulatory system, overdose of certain drugs etc.
