On October 22, 2023, NG Yam Pin was fishing in Putussibau, Indonesia when he landed this beautiful 10.21-kilogram (22-pound, 8-ounce) giant Borneo gourami. Pin was working a crankbait when this colorful gourami struck, and after a quick fight, he was able to land the fish and record a weight on his certified scale before releasing it safely. With this fish Pin has set the IGFA All-Tackle World Record for the species, topping the previous record by 9 pounds!

Some glimpses of the "Kalinga corporate carp Derby 2023" organised and sponcered by"The Angling and Adventure company" at Kila Dalijoda on 13th August. Anglers from all parts of the State and two anglers were from West Bengal participated in the event and made it a memorable experience . Mr Safiul Bari from TCS Bhubaneswar won the Biggest catch catagory and Mr Hussain from Dinco Traders West Bengal won the Minimum catch (Total weight)catagory. Congratulations to the winners and Participants who made it a member experience. Special thanks to Debjit Sir from Kila Dalijoda to extend us his presence and hospitality and made sure the event runs as scheduled. The Mahanadi Mahseer/ Tor mosal mahanadicus is the State fish of Odisha. It looks like a carp and feeds like predators, it can be found from Sambalpur till Cuttack in River Mahanadi.
The Mahanadi Mahseer resides in clear and fast flowing waters. We had the opportunity to catch and release some beauties.
