ghat: Sovabazar is famous for the Sovabazar Rajbari, where Nabakrishna Deb started a Durga Puja in 1757. The ghat was built by the Debs for use by the family and locals. When seen from atop the adjacent bridge in the morning, the ghat, covered in huge baskets of flowers looks beautiful. The old houses lining the ghat’s entrance and the Cossipore Gun and Shell Factory on the opposite side give a glimpse of a Kolkata from a bygone era.

🚖কলকাতা আর তার হলুদ ট্যাক্সির রূপকথা…....
শহরবাসীর সঙ্গে হলুদ ট্যাক্সির রয়েছে অন্য এক সখ্যতা। এটাই ছিল কলকাতার ট্যাক্সির আদিপুরুষ। দেখতে আহামরি কিছু না হলেও ভারতের এক সময়ের সরল সাদাসিধে এই গাড়ি ছিল আভিজাত্যের চিহ্ন।
কলকাতা পরিচিত ফুটবল, রসগোল্লা, রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠিক তেমনি হলুদ ট্যাক্সি তাদেরই মধ্যে একটা অন্যতম। হুগলি নদীর ধারে গড়ে ওঠা এক জনজীবন নাম কলকাতা। এই কলকাতার সঙ্গে হলুদ ট্যাক্সির সম্পর্ক ওতপ্রোতভাবে জড়িত।
ট্যাক্সির হলুদ রং নিয়ে কারও যদি কৌতূহল হয় তবে বলে রাখা ভাল, হলুদ রং খুব সহজেই দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করে। প্রথম মেড-ইন-ইন্ডিয়া গাড়ি ও সেই সঙ্গে ভারতের প্রথম ডিজেল গাড়ি। পশ্চিমবঙ্গের হিন্দমোটরে এই গাড়ি এসেম্বল করা হত। সেই সূত্র ধরে হিন্দমোটর পারিপার্শ্বিক এলাকাটা জমজমাট এক শহরে পরিণত হয়। রাস্তায় নামার কিছু বছরের মধ্যে কলকাতার সকলের কাছে জনপ্রিয় হয়ে এই ট্যাক্সি। প্রথমে ট্যাক্সিগুলো রং ছিল কালো এবং হলুদ। কালো ট্যাক্সি শুধু শহরের মধ্যেই থাকত। আর হলুদ ট্যাক্সি চলে যেত শহর থেকে দূরে। তারপর কখন আস্তে আস্তে হারিয়ে যায় কালো রঙের ট্যাক্সি 😔।
আর হলুদ ট্যাক্সি হয়ে ওঠে কলকাতার নস্টালজিয়া। হয়ত নস্টালজিয়া খুব তাড়াতাড়ি আমরা হারিয়ে ফেলব। কলকাতা এবং তার হলুদ ট্যাক্সির ইতিহাস লেখা থাকবে বইয়ের পাতায়।❤️❤️🚖
