India on Wednesday successfully landed a spacecraft near the Moon’s south pole. Students and teacher's of GMSSS26 TM witnessed the live telecast of historical moment in school premises.

On August 15, 2023, India proudly celebrates its 77th Independence Day, marking 76 years of freedom. The theme for this year's celebration is “Nation First, Always First,” GMSSS26 celebrate this day in school premises with full enthusiasm with students, staff and SMC members. Principal Mrs Sangeeta unfurled the National Flag.

The Mid Day Meal Scheme is a school meal programme in India designed to better the nutritional standing of school-age children nationwide. In this direction visit of school campus and inspection of MDM building by Director School Education Chandigarh Sh. Harsuhinder Pal Singh Brar, on 11.08.2023.

Tree Plantation Drive by NSS Unit of GMSSS 26TM CHANDIGARH Under Mera Mati Mera Desh Programme

A tree plantation drive was organised under Mera Mati Mera Desh Programme by NSS Unit GMSSS 26TM Chandigarh on 09.08.2023. The drive was conducted under the able guidance of Principal Mrs.Sangeeta and NSS PO Mr.Anil Verma. The volunteers participated enthusiastically and were made aware about the importance of different types of trees and their benefits. Principal Mrs. Sangeeta appreciated the efforts of volunteers and NSS PO Mr. Anil Verma. The volunteers pledged to continue the plantation of trees around their neighbourhood and promote the programme of Mera Mati Mera Desh.

Sports is the celebration of the human spirit and youth; it not only inspires young minds but also teaches good values and ethics to young students.
On 31 Jan 2023 ,GMSSS 26 TM celebrated Annual Sports Day with great enthusiasm.

GMSSS26 TM CHANDIGARH- Artist Ms. Seujpriya performed classical dance from Sattriya from Assam and also held an interaction session with students, motivating them to learn Indian Classical Dances. Event organised at GMSSS26 TM Chandigarh in collaboration with S**C MACAY.
Importance of Dance in Indian Culture In traditional Indian culture, the function of dance was to give symbolic expression to religious ideas. Therefore, figure of Lord Shiva as Nataraja in dance represents the creation and destruction of cosmic cycle.

Kala Utsav means all round development of learner. Art education means music, painting, dance ,theatre, crafts, moral education, religious education, physical education, vocational education on grassroots level.
GMSSS 26 (TM) participated and bagged several prizes at *State Level Kala Utsav 2022* organised by UT Education Deptt. Seven(7) students participated in different categories.

India celebrates Children's Day on November 14 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. GMSSS26 TM Celebrated Children's day with tiny tots, students participated with full enthusiasm.

Kala Utsav is an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE) under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, to promote arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students at the secondary stage in the country. GMSSS26 (CLUSTER SCHOOL) celebrated Kala Utsav with the emerging talents of school.

The Diwali celebrations mean a festive look with diyas and lanterns. Students of Nursery and pre nursery of the School celebrated the festival of Diwali with great enthusiasm. Principal of the school aware the students and talked about the significance of the festival - How good always conquered the evil and also about why and how Diwali is celebrated across India.

As we live in the “world of information”, information technology has become a part of our daily lives and today numerous enterprises have IT departments to manage computers, networks etc. Tiny tots(Class Nursery) of GMSSS26TM are learning these skills on various computer devices with the help of different presentations.
