Happy Holi 2021.

Went back home after ages. And celebrated Holi with the fam.

The Chandra way involved lounging around in comfy clothes all day, eating all day, and then a major glow up in the evening. đź’Ż recommended.

Family time is sooo therapeutic for the soul.

A highly gratifying post first dental visit photoshoot.

The child was in pain, which isn't ideal for the first visit to the dentist. The family was a bit apprehensive regarding getting treatment for "baby teeth". After counseling about the significance of milk teeth, they agreed.

This little guy got treatment done with a lot of joy and by the end was satisfied with the results of his fight with tooth germs.

Also, he came back for some pics after I doffed my PPE. This just gave me so much joy!!

Independence day is a day that has always been close to my heart!
This is a day that signifies how our country liberated itself from its shackles and has been constantly growing and evolving into a formidable, wonderful melting pot of languages, cultures and religions.

We are a country spread over such a large area, with an unparalleled cultural history and a heritage of awe-inspiring diversity. We are a resilient population who are constantly striving for excellence.
Today, as I just went about my routine, I felt nostalgic for the good old days and my that had made this day feel so significant. My heart used to literally feel heavier in my chest, with pride and patriotism. Each line of each song used to resonate with my soul.

In class 10th I had proudly led the Independence day parade for my school in Jammu and Kashmir. Every year at , this day was celebrated with much pomp and joy! And I owe it all to Col(Retd) B Chandra!! His service to the country has made me the proud, patriotic and strong woman I am today! Proud to be your daughter! Love you, Pa!

Also, a big thank you to every brave soul who lay down their life for our country.

1 in 4 children do not brush at night. Dental caries is the most common infectious disease in children worldwide. This year's World Oral Health day theme is :
"Brush. Book. Bed"

During this phase of self isolation and social distancing, while at home and reiterating important hand hygiene habits to your little ones, also stress the importance of good oral hygiene habits as well.

Start a nightly oral hygiene ritual with your little one. This will lead to a lifetime of good oral health.

#2020

I had planned a lot for today. Had been looking forward to this day since I started my solo practice a few months ago.

As it happens, due to the COVID-19 situation, it is safer to maintain social distancing than to gather for events. Hence, I deferred my plans for the moment for the overall safety of my patients.

Its a setback. But first and foremost comes safety. We can always celebrate next year. But I still wanted to commemorate this day, albeit a bit late.

Wishing a very happy Holi to one and all!! This is my favorite festival of the year. I love how it signifies triumph of good over evil.
My wish is that awareness also triumphs over ignorance in all aspects of our life!

Each child should have an orthodontic check up by age 7. The reason for this being that this is the ideal time for evaluation of growth pattern of upper and lower jaws. A few types of malocclusions (bad bite or improper position of teeth) as shown in second slide may benefit from early diagnosis and treatment.

Did you know that dentists play an important part in our health and well-being?
National Dentist’s Day falls on March 6th every year. It’s a great day to showcase your appreciation for your dentist and their dedicated work!
How can you celebrate:

1. Show your dentist how you’ve improved your oral health regimen.

2. Commit to better dental habits.

3. Raise awareness (teach your child a new tooth-brushing song, encourage family and friends to visit their dentist). 4. Schedule a dental checkup (get back in the office to make sure your teeth are healthy and your habits are on the right track)

5. Smile (show off your work and your dentist’s work)

6. Take a picture with your dentist and do a shout-out on your social media accounts

7. Make sure to add the hashtag to all posts

It may not seem like it at the time, but when mom is brushing her teeth, she's brushing for two! Baby’s tooth development during pregnancy starts at the 5th and 6th weeks.
A mom's oral health is connected to the health of her unborn baby–and it can all be traced to the bacteria in her mouth.

a) When a pregnant woman has excessive bacteria growth in her mouth, it can enter the bloodstream through her gums and travel to the uterus—triggering the production of chemicals called prostaglandins—that are suspected to induce premature labor.
b) After baby arrives, mom can potentially pass her bacteria on to her newborn (called vertical transmission). So, a mom who has lots of acid-loving bacteria in her mouth will pass higher numbers of those bacteria to her newborn.

During pregnancy, mothers can protect their oral health by taking the necessary precautions. Daily oral and dental care should be continued non-stop.
1. Cleaning of teeth by using toothbrushes and dental floss at least twice a day.
2. Gargling with mouthwashes or warm salty water must be performed, especially after bouts of nausea/vomiting.
3. Make sure to visit your dental provider for regular check-ups.
Visiting your dentist will allow him or her to assess your current oral health and map out a dental plan for the remainder of your pregnancy.

Many syrups for children have sugars dissolved in their flavored base in order to make them more palatable to children.

Moreover, many of these syrups have low pH levels and high acidity which can be a dangerous combination for a child's teeth. prolonged exposure to these dissolve dental enamel, causing cavities.

Medication given during bedtime or without following proper oral health habits can be extremely harmful to the teeth.

The oral health of children can be promoted by following certain recommendations like taking the medicine in tablet form; brushing with toothpaste or chewing sugar-free gum after taking the medicine; home and dental-office fluoride applications; whenever possible, taking medicines at meal-times rather than between meals; avoiding consumption of the medicine before bed; and seeking regular preventive dental care.

A very Happy 71st Republic day to everyone!

Being an army child, patriotism is my religion. This day, a celebration of India becoming an independent republic with the Constitution of India officially coming into force, is the ideal day to look back and honour the sacrifices that have made India the great nation it is today and also an opportunity to resolve to modify our life in order to contribute to the betterment of the nation.

We, the citizens of India, need to stop small issues from dividing us. We are the wonderful and unique parts that constitute the wonderful and glorious whole that is our motherland. India is, and always has been, a beautiful, diverse and culturally rich country. We should celebrate this fact instead of fighting amongst ourselves.
Those who came before us, fought for our independence, laid their lives happily for a better tomorrow, are working hard for making the world a better place should be proud of us.

Let us resolve to be better for those who come after us. .. 🇮🇳

This is achieved by conducting dental check-ups and/or health talks at schools; the ideal way to reach as many families as possible.
