Today number of our students are not aware of international ranking of Indian universities/institutes and they focus their hard work towards getting admissions into top ranked Indian colleges/institutes like St. Stephen, Shri Ram College of Commerce, Hindu etc., all these come under the Delhi University which is ranked lowly at 398 in the world and its admission is very difficult with some subject cutoff touching anything between 95-99% every year. The University of Delhi was ranked #398 in the QS World University Rankings of 2011 and #78 in the QS Asian University Rankings. The other Indian universities too are lowly ranked that is University of Mumbai (578); University of Calcutta (649) and University of Pune (661). Even the IIT’s are ranked:-

IIT Bombay (225), IIT Delhi(218), IIT Madras(281)

Whereas:-

30 UK universities were ranked among the top 200 overall.

65 US universities were ranked among the top 200 overall.

You will agree an international degree has its own additional advantages, in terms of exposure to an entirely new culture, which will be much valued in the future global job market. We are, now advising parents to look at admission to the high ranked international universities in U.K and U.S.A not only Cambridge and Oxford (where admission is very difficult, only for high achievers and academic focused students) but also for other highly ranked universities like London school of Economics, University of Bristol, the University of Warwick, the London University College London and the University of Exeter, as some students may not meet the high standards of admission criteria of the Oxford and Cambridge Universities. We believe, admission to top ranked universities is a life changing decision, certainly difficult, however not impossible. If correct information, guidance and enough preparation time is given along with hard work put in by the student, it is possible. This however, would require strong academic focus, very wide reading, the reading and learning atmosphere needs to exist in school and at home. Involvement in standard Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) like MUN, Trinity Music, NASA trip, Debates, Games etc., are not sufficient as all their peers are doing the same in schools all across India. Students need depth in a particular Extra Curricular Activitiy (ECA) and the breadth they show in ECA, should not be mundane or similar to what all their classmates are doing. Your students need to stand out. Sometimes, even being a head boy/girl is not enough, imagine how many head boys/girls do we have in India. The top ranked international universities cannot accept them all, you must stand out by being creative. Our experts will counsel students on this. It is a challenge but not impossible. Individual counseling for University Preparation Programs (Group sessions + individual counseling), 9th – 12th class students only. These programs will be conducted on any one of the Oxford college campuses and are open to students of classes 10th to 12th only. Students will be taught by staff that are teaching or have taught for the University of Oxford and some are well-established specialist tutors. Some of students may be average in academies and may not want to go through the tough selection process of top ranked international universities, However they may want to follow their passion and look at a degree in Fashion, Management, Adventure tourism, Hospitality, Tourism- (Specializing in Snowsport) Film Production, Digital Photography - Still and Moving Images, Fine Arts, Music, Digital and Graphic Art, and other similar professions, colleges in New Zealand , U.K, Canada & Australia provide good options for such students and we will be able to help them with admission to the recognized colleges which are offering the above courses .
