𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 in association with the Karpagam Innovation Centre hosted an exciting 𝐃𝐄𝐌𝐎 𝐃𝐚𝐲 event for first-year mechanical engineering students on 9th May. This event aimed to showcase and celebrate the innovation and creativity of emerging engineers. 24 unique projects were displayed highlighting the problem-solving skills of the participating students. Their projects demonstrate the student's ability to apply engineering principles to real-world challenges and to propose innovative solutions. Overall, it was a day of learning with a lot of experience for the students. 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐦 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 organized a workshop on "𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐯𝐚𝐬 (𝐁𝐌𝐂)" for first-year mechanical students on 30th April. About 54 students participated in the workshop. The speaker covered topics like target markets, the value chain, resource mobilization, business partnerships, and flexibility in business models. In the second session, he explained the Business Model Canvas with examples like Keera Kadai and Cook Pot. The session was insightful, prompting many questions from students about patent registration and the importance of intellectual property rights (IPR).
