The ankle joint is indeed a hinge type of synovial joint, permitting two degrees of freedom:
Plantar flexion and dorsiflexion: These movements involve pointing the foot downwards (plantar flexion) and pulling the foot upwards (dorsiflexion). The typical range of motion for plantar flexion is around 40°, while dorsiflexion usually ranges around 20°.
Inversion and eversion: Inversion refers to the movement of the sole of the foot inward, toward the midline of the body, while eversion involves movement outward, away from the midline. The ankle typically allows for around 30° of inversion and 20° of eversion.
▶️Hip joint
▶️Present by Md Nazre and Md Shadab
Physiotherapy 2nd year (TIMST Darbhanga)
▶️Hip joint:- it is synovial type of ball and socket joint.
▶️It permits 3 degree of range of motion.
▶️First movement is flexion and the maximum range of flexion is 120 degree And extension the maximum range of extension is 30-40 degrees .
▶️It varies according to patients .
▶️Second movement is abduction and addiction.
▶️The maximum range of abduction is 45-50 degrees.
▶️And the addiction is 0 because of both lower limb is. On neutral position while standing or supine position.
▶️Third movement is internal and external rotation.
▶️The range of internal rotation is 40-45 degrees And the range of motion of external rotation is also 45 .
▶️It's vary according to patients to patients
