Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhiji's Centenary year, 1969. Baisakhi is a Sikh festival that is popularly jubilated as a colorful occasion to embraces new beginnings and bountiful harvests.
People wear traditional Sikh attires and visit Gurudwaras. This is followed by grand celebration with traditional delicacies and folk dances like Bhangra and Gidda.
However this day has another major significance which is to commemorate the day of birth of the Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699.
He preached peace, justice, unity and selflessness.

Mahashivratri - the ritual worship of Lord Shiva on Shivratri festival that falls on the 14th day Phalgun pleases Lord Shiva the most– known as Shivaratri. Out of the 12 Shivaratri that take place each year, MahaShivaratri the one with the most potent spiritual significance.
Mahashivratri reminiscences the glorious occasion when Shiva first performed the Tandava Nritya - the dance of devotion which saved humanity from destruction.
MahaShivratri also celebrates the holy matrimony of Shiva and Goddess Parvati and the day he became one with Mount Kailash.

“Nightingale of India”, Today we celebrate the birth anniversary of a lady who had great achievements. This is a day celebrated for the contributions of women to the society, and also to empower the young women of our country and to pay tribute the legacy of Sarojini Naidu, So it also marks the National Women’s Day.
Besides being a freedom fighter, political leader she was a great poet. Her poetry reflected her love for India’s literature,culture and the people for inspiring the upcoming generations.

Lala Lajpat Rai, a well-acclaimed author, freedom fighter, and politician , popularly known as "Punjab Kesari," which means "Punjab da Sher," was born on January 28, 1865, in Punjab. He was one of the prominent leaders who raised their voice against the Imperialists and played a key role in the Indian freedom struggle. He was one of the three members of Lal Bal Pal Trimurti.
He rebelliously fought against Simon Commission and gave the slogan "Simon go back.

Basant Panchmi marks the commencement of Spring season loaded with vibrant colours and joy. This day holds significance in Hindu mythology as it is believed that goddess Saraswati - the goddess of learning, music and art was born on this day and is worshipped. This day is also known as Saraswati Pooja or Shri Panchami. As per Hindu calendar, it is celebrated on fifth day of Maagh Maas.
This day is symbolized by the colour yellow - colour of peace and prosperity . It also marks the harvest season of mustard.

Every year, on 26th January, Republic Day is celebrated when the constitution of India is adopted. This day also commemorates the spirit of independent India, as on this day in 1930, the National Congress proclaimed complete Swaraj / "Poorna Swaraj" from the clutches of the British Crown. This day also marks a country's democratic spirit, citizens' power to choose their representatives and strengthens the idea of "Unity in Diversity".
Remember, the constitution not only mentions fundamental rights but fundamental duties as well. Let's join hands and acknowledge our role as responsible citizens in national development. NSS_GEU wishes everyone a Happy Republic Day.

This day was initiated by Ministry of women and child development and Government of India in the year 2008 and is celebrated every year on 24th of January. This Day is celebrated to spread awareness among the people about the inequalities and discrimination faced by girls in Indian society at different phases of their life.

Netaji Jayanti, or Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti, was first observed as Parakram Divas in 2021 on his 124th birth anniversary.
From establishing and leading the Indian National Army to making alliances against the colonizers, Netaji was one of the prominent figures battling against the Britishers in the Indian freedom struggle, an epitome of a true leader and patriot who inspired many.
Netaji Jayanti commemorates his freedom struggles and honors the true spirit of a true patriot by garlanding his statue, hoisting the Indian Flag, and organizing various cultural programs in schools, etc.

Yes,this is true !! Indian army,Our frontline warriors are the ones who save us from the enemy. Every year on 15th of January we celebrate this Indian Army Day in the remembrance of field marshal K.M. Cariappa as the first commander in chief of the army.
This year marks the 75th year of remembering every soldier who died serving for their nation. The day celebrates the accomplishments of our nation's soldiers who have set the greatest example of selfless service, brotherhood, and above all, love for their country.

Veer baal diwas 26 dec
"Courage above all things, is the first quality of a warrior . "
December 26 is marked as ' Veer Bal Diwas 'to pay homage to the courage of the “Sahibzades”, four sons of Guru Gobind Singh, the last Sikh guru. While all four were martyred, the date has been chosen as it was the day observed as the martyrdom day of the Sahibzadas Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, who were killed at the tender age of six and nine in Sirhind by Mughal forces.
The unforgettable day is to be celebrated at an event hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi - " Shadab Kirtan" led by 300 Baal Kirtanis. During the Veer Bal Diwas, 2022 celebrations PM Modi will also give a green single to start the March-past by 3000 kids in Delhi.
NSS_GEU pays a heartfelt tribute to the courageous Sahibzades and will forever be indebt to their sacrifices.

Vijay Diwas or Victory Day is commemorated on December 16, marking the end of the 1971 Indo-Pak War and the release of Bangladesh. India declared victory today, 51 years ago, following Pakistan's signing of Surrender.
It was also the greatest military surrender since the Second World War.
