बैसाखी दी लख लख बधाइयां!

Baisakhi is a Sikh festival that is popularly jubilated as a colorful occasion to embraces new beginnings and bountiful harvests. 
People wear traditional Sikh attires and visit Gurudwaras. This is followed by grand celebration with traditional delicacies and folk dances like Bhangra and Gidda.

However this day has another major significance which is to commemorate the day of birth of the Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699.
He preached peace, justice, unity and selflessness. 
On this auspicious occasion let's pledge to be kind and loving to people around us and extend a helping hand to those in need.

Ambedkar Jayanti is observed every year on 14th April to honor one of the greatest personality to walk over Indian soil. 
Dr. B R Ambedkar, known as the Father of Indian Constitution, worked tirelessly against the oppressive caste system in India.
His great role in shaping the modern India ranges from drafting the Indian Constitution which is considered one of the most progressive and democratic constitutions in the world to enactment of the Hindu Code Bill.

There is no better occasion to monumentalize the still ongoing struggle for social justice around the globe.

Holi, the vibrant festival of India which symbolizes the exuberance of life. The colors of Holi unite people and binds us all together in an infectious energy.

The festival of Holi symbolizes the glorious victory of good over evil, how the golden fire of Holika could not melt the golden core of Prahlada, son of Hiranyakashipu, the Asura King.
This Holi we welcome the new season of spring loaded with sweetness of gujiyas and joyful pichkaris.

Each year, 8th March is celebrated as International Women's Day. On this day, people from all across the globe commemorate and honour the wins and achievements of women, while simultaneously raising awareness around gender equality. The UN theme for this year's International Women's Day is “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality”.

Mahashivratri - the ritual worship of Lord Shiva on Shivratri festival that falls on the 14th  day Phalgun pleases Lord Shiva the most– known as Shivaratri. Out of the 12 Shivaratri that take place each year, MahaShivaratri the one with the most potent spiritual significance.

Mahashivratri reminiscences the glorious occasion when Shiva first performed the Tandava Nritya - the dance of devotion which saved humanity from destruction.
MahaShivratri also celebrates the holy matrimony of Shiva and Goddess Parvati and the day he became one with Mount Kailash.

May the blessing of Bholenath grace you with the strength to overcome darkness and ignorance .

“Nightingale of India”, Today we celebrate the birth anniversary of a lady who had great achievements. This is a day celebrated for the contributions of women to the society, and also to empower the young women of our country and to pay tribute the legacy of Sarojini Naidu, So it also marks the National Women’s Day.

Besides being a freedom fighter, political leader she was a great poet. Her poetry reflected her love for India’s literature,culture and the people for inspiring the upcoming generations.

Lala Lajpat Rai, a well-acclaimed author, freedom fighter, and politician , popularly known as "Punjab Kesari," which means "Punjab da Sher," was born on January 28, 1865, in Punjab. He was one of the prominent leaders who raised their voice against the Imperialists and played a key role in the Indian freedom struggle. He was one of the three members of Lal Bal Pal Trimurti. 
He rebelliously fought against Simon Commission and gave the slogan "Simon go back.

Basant Panchmi marks the commencement of Spring season loaded with vibrant colours and joy. This day holds significance in Hindu mythology as it is believed that goddess Saraswati - the goddess of learning, music and art was born on this day and is worshipped. This day is also known as Saraswati Pooja or Shri Panchami. As per Hindu calendar, it is celebrated on fifth day of Maagh Maas.
This day is symbolized by the colour yellow - colour of peace and prosperity . It also marks the harvest season of mustard.

Every year, on 26th January, Republic Day is celebrated when the constitution of India is adopted. This day also commemorates the spirit of independent India, as on this day in 1930, the National Congress proclaimed complete Swaraj / "Poorna Swaraj" from the clutches of the British Crown. This day also marks a country's democratic spirit, citizens' power to choose their representatives and strengthens the idea of "Unity in Diversity".

Remember, the constitution not only mentions fundamental rights but fundamental duties as well. Let's join hands and acknowledge our role as responsible citizens in national development. NSS_GEU wishes everyone a Happy Republic Day.

The liberty to live in a democracy comes with the power to exercise one's right in the decision making procedure of the country. 25th January marks the day of one such power i.e. the right to vote in accordance to the Universal Adult Franchise. National Voter's Day is a reminder of the importance that every adult in the country holds and makes us realize that no one is insignificant in a democracy. NSS_GEU while wishing everyone a very happy National Voter's Day urges you all to exercise this power of yours for the betterment of the country

This day was initiated by Ministry of women and child development and Government of India in the year 2008 and is celebrated every year on 24th of January. This Day is celebrated to spread awareness among the people about the inequalities and discrimination faced by girls in Indian society at different phases of their life.

Today on the occasion of this National Girl Child Day NSS_GEU assures to take everyone together in spreading the word about issues concerning girl and let us make this nation more better by removing the gender based biases.

In accordance to this thought the never ending effort of Graphic Era was noticed and NSS_GEU being a fore runner of this accomplishment had received the award of being swachhata champion presented by Mayor, Sunil Uniyal Gama in association with waste warriors and Nagar Nigam, Dehradun

The ceremony took place on 23rd January 2023 in the Dehradun Nagar Nigam. NSS_GEU has stood to its core responsibility of cleanliness and hence becomes an example for others to follow.

Netaji Jayanti, or Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti, was first observed as Parakram Divas in 2021 on his 124th birth anniversary.
From establishing and leading the Indian National Army to making alliances against the colonizers, Netaji was one of the prominent figures battling against the Britishers in the Indian freedom struggle, an epitome of a true leader and patriot who inspired many.
Netaji Jayanti commemorates his freedom struggles and honors the true spirit of a true patriot by garlanding his statue, hoisting the Indian Flag, and organizing various cultural programs in schools, etc.

NSS_GEU sends warm wishes for Netaji Jayanti. May we all draw inspiration from his ideals and contribute to national building.

Yes,this is true !! Indian army,Our frontline warriors are the ones who save us from the enemy. Every year on 15th of January we celebrate this Indian Army Day in the remembrance of field marshal K.M. Cariappa as the first commander in chief of the army.

This year marks the 75th year of remembering every soldier who died serving for their nation. The day celebrates the accomplishments of our nation's soldiers who have set the greatest example of selfless service, brotherhood, and above all, love for their country.

Dr. (Prof) A.S Shukla has been such a person for the whole university. He's someone who is known for his versatility as over the years he has been able to balance out his dedication towards esteemed organisations yet never compromising his duties as a mentor. Veer baal diwas 26 dec

"Courage above all things, is the first quality of a warrior . "

December 26 is marked as ' Veer Bal Diwas 'to pay homage to the courage of the “Sahibzades”, four sons of Guru Gobind Singh, the last Sikh guru. While all four were martyred, the date has been chosen as it was the day observed as the martyrdom day of the Sahibzadas Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, who were killed at the tender age of six and nine in Sirhind by Mughal forces.

The unforgettable day is to be celebrated at an event hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi - " Shadab Kirtan"  led by 300 Baal Kirtanis. During the Veer Bal Diwas, 2022 celebrations PM Modi will also give a green single to start the March-past by 3000 kids in Delhi.

NSS_GEU pays a heartfelt tribute to the courageous Sahibzades and will forever be indebt to their sacrifices.

Christmas is a festival celebrated by Christians the world over on 25th December, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. Many believe this day to be the truth of spiritual life. They believe that before the birth of Jesus the world was full of hatred, greed, and hypocrisy; however the birth of Jesus eradicated all the evil things and prevailed happiness in the world. Christians celebrate this change of world which had happened after the birth of Jesus.

सन् 2001 से भारत के पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री चौधरी चरण सिंह की जयंती (23 दिसंबर) को देश भर में 'किसान दिवस' या राष्ट्रीय किसान दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है।
किसानों के बिना जिन्दगी और दुनिया का अस्तित्व सोचा भी नही जा सकता है।किसान वर्ग देश के विकास में योगदान देने वाला सबसे महत्वपूर्ण वर्ग है, इसलिए उन्हें सम्मान देना हम सबका नैतिक उत्तरदायित्व है।

Vijay Diwas or Victory Day is commemorated on December 16, marking the end of the 1971 Indo-Pak War and the release of Bangladesh. India declared victory today, 51 years ago, following Pakistan's signing of Surrender.
It was also the greatest military surrender since the Second World War.

NSS_GEU pays homage to all the brave hearts of mother India who assured India to be unaffected by any harm. Our nation will be indebted to all the defence personnel for their role in keeping our country secure.

National energy conservation day is celebrated every year by the people all over the India on 14th of December. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) executed the Energy Conservation Act in India in the year 2001. The day focuses on making people aware of global warming and climate change and promotes efforts towards saving energy resources.

Human Rights Day is observed by the international community every year on 10th December. It commemorates the day in 1948 when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The 2022 Theme of Human Rights Day is Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All.
