In order to provide some more time to the taxpayers ,the last date for linking of PAN-Aadhaar has been extended to 30th June 2023.

Thereafter, the PAN shall become inoperative, and the consequence during the period that PAN remains inoperative will be as follows:

1) No refund shall be granted.
2) Interest shall not be payable on such refund,
3) TDS and TCS shall be deducted at higher rates, as prescribed in the Act.

The PAN shall become operative again in 30 days, upon linking of PAN-Aadhaar after payment of fee of Rs 1,000.

Delhi organised a four day training for GST Audit officers of & from January 16 to 19, 2023.

Tax Alert - Circular on section 194R.

Finance Act 2022 has introduced section 194R of the Income Tax Act, 1961 (‘the Act’), which provides for deduction of tax (‘TDS') by any person who is providing benefit or perquisite (whether convertible into money or not) to an Indian resident arising from carrying out a business or profession carried out by such resident person. TDS is required to be deducted at the rate of 10%.

The Hon'ble Finance Minister of India presented the Finance Budget 2022 on 1st February 2022 in Parliament. She had a mammoth task in hand to not only cater to the demands of the growing economy but also to the expectations of the families and businesses severely affected by Pandemic.

The Budget focuses on long term growth with a strong emphasis on capital investments, domestic manufacturing, uplifting the poor, consolidation of future fiscal deficit, etc.
