It is rightly said that a Father is a girl's first love and a boy's superhero. Father's Day celebration is a wonderful way to celebrate and recognize these pillars of strength and backbones in our lives. Celebrating Father's Day at school today gave Presidians an opportunity to express their love and gratitude towards their dads. The day turned out to be a delightful and memorable experience for one and all.
Today, the students of Class Prep were engaged in an early math skill of counting and grouping. They creatively explored different groupings using various materials like soft toys, flowers, and beads. Children were asked to create a garland using five fresh flowers. This activity not only provided them an opportunity to group five flowers but also helped in strengthening their hand-eye coordination along with finer motor development. Another activity that children enjoyed the most was creating a wristband using two beads. Such activities help in developing number sense and are a precursor to division, which they learn at a later stage.
To reinforce the awareness and understanding of the sense organs and their functions, a plethora of activities were conducted for Presidians. The role play activity of golgappa and chaach seller raised the excitement amongst students to taste the sweet and sour fares. It was joyous to burst the balloons to find the path in the maze, with most of them closing their ears to shut the loud sounds. Their curiosity was kindled when some of them were blindfolded to make a face and its features and others had to make with their eyes open. They were again blindfolded to guess the fruits by smelling the same. The experiential learning concretised the concepts and their joy and happiness grew by leaps and bounds.
