I am leaving my emotional baggage behind .. Naye saal mein, only Cabin Luggage!

Advice to myself, which I'm sure will be of No use to you.. As always, year end retrospective thoughts always end up disagreeing with me..and I repeat the same things in the next year too. Aapka bhi yehi haal hai kya ?

If there's a city that knows how to host a rock n roll party, it's Bengaluru! You guys turned up in solid numbers, and told us that our songs will live on forever. Being a ‘17 year old ‘front man of a 25 year old band, I promise you..50th anniversary bhi saath mein manaayenge! Alvida, Shukriya.. but , C U Very Very Soon!

One of my greatest sources of motivation & inspiration is the character of the legendary, Rocky Balboa .. played by the phenomenal Sylvester Stallone .. His greatest strength was -Self belief ! It is the most underrated source of strength. I was a kid when I watched Rocky , but he taught me that ,when the chips are down, look within..
2023 has tested me professionally & emotionally and there were so many times I had no answers , no solutions & no plan. But everytime I went back to the boxing ring of my life and told myself- Let me get up .. Let’s do it , one more time! And like Rocky ,I found strength, hope & happiness inside my heart & my soul .. it was all Mehfuz there …
And, so was I ..
I am not Rocky… But, I Am …

We dreamt about this, and it turned into reality.. A dream tour opener in Indore.. The cleanest city and as we discovered, the loudest city too! Thank you to each and every one of you for turning up and blessing us. Sharing a few moments and memories from the incredible night.. and another dream that every artist gets this kind of love from the audience.. All we feel is gratitude.

This pic was published in 2001 .. I am on my son’s bicycle and holding a toy guitar .. I had just started to shoot for Meghna Gulzar’s Filhaal , and I guess the media was very excited that I was doing a Bollywood film .. My only excitement was to sing a song written by the legendary Gulzar saab ..
But yes , everyone’s perception about me changed .. I suddenly was a ‘star’ .. and it made me understand how crazy this country is about films and film stars. I thoroughly enjoyed doing the film , even though my role was the shortest. And made great friends.. One of them is my friend for life - Jitesh Pillai .. All the others aren’t in touch but if we ever meet , we will meet warmly.
Well , the film flopped , though it is highly watched and appreciated on TV now .
Somehow the film industry never fascinated me .. to act or to sing .. I know working in Bollywood would give me way more fame & money ..but there is a thing about me ..I am not greedy or over ambitious and I don’t regret anything I do .. I move on , because my only pursuits are happiness & respect. Main har lamha jeeta hoon ..

Tomorrow NSIC grounds , Okhla in Delhi ,is going to be Euphoric.. We are playing our first public gig in Delhi after 2 years .. Also we kick off our 25th anniversary year with this concert. Inviting you all to come and make it special for us and all the other artists who are performing tomorrow. All acts are fabulous and will be on all day.. Euphoria will take stage around 6.30 pm. It is going to be packed , so reach in good time.
Also all parents who are coming for the gig , do get your kids along .. They too should experience what music you all grew up with.
Tough to encapsulate our 25 years into a 60 min set , but if you have song requests, Abhi bataa do 😊

My sister Dahlia .. She wrote Euphoria 's first ever Hindi song called Sha Na Na Na, setting us on this path .. She legally fought our case against a huge label and won it .. she is our legal advisor, our lyricist and our greatest cheerleader ... She believed that I was a star way before I got on stage .. Dahlia is everybody's best friend , comfort zone and hope giver .. non judgemental, encouragement department, party starter , euphoric life of any place she is at. Yoga guru, Kathak dancer , marathon runner , one of the biggest patent & copyright lawyer , she is all this and way more . She is my family 's centre of energy and Euphoria 's source of Euphoria. All my friends and relatives love her way more than they love me..
She inspires me every moment and I am who I am today , because she chose to be my best friend, philosopher & guide .
Happy birthday Dahlia or Honks, as I christened her cuz she had no nickname.

I went to the University College of Medical Sciences in Delhi and I became a doctor as per the wishes of my entire family ( Matlab Mama, Kaka et al ).. I wasn't averse to the idea because I had seen papa & ma , both exemplary doctors , and all kids want to emulate their parents. My paternal side is packed with doctors who could sing amazingly. I am definitely the worst of the lot. 🤣 My only protest is that there shouldn't be too much pressure on any kid to go into any particular profession.
Ok .. that really skinny guy is me .. I was around 20 and weighed 54.5 kgs..in the pic with me- L to R : Shama , Rajeev ( always called him Guddu), Sharad ( the topper ), Pavan ( called him Pelu 🤣) , Me , Ajay, Shailey & Atul (only one in touch besides Sumit ) .. all successful & eminent doctors today , except Sharad , Ajay & I . SHARAD is the DGP in Punjab police 🤘🏻..Ajay is a professor in music 🎶... aur main, struggler singer. 😄
The pic might be faded but the memories of that time are vivid , colourful & beautiful.
College is the best time of our lives and I am blessed I spent my best years with the most amazing people.
