Always remember, you are enough. Someone else only adds more to you but doesn't complete you. You are complete yourself. You are one whole. Remember!

"A little courage is all we need to conquer all we want." 😉Throwback from the photoshoot I did for MGI2020 portfolio. After being bodyshamed for years for being skinny and being called 'Alien', 'Lizard' and more, it was indeed difficult to face the camera this way. It took some courage but gave so much more confidence.

Savitri (Brahma's wife), once got agitated and cursed Brahma that he will never be worshiped, except in Pushkar.

Moral of the story: never agitate your partner. 🙈

A very fruitful trip to Chennai with the YRG care center visit as the key highlight 😊

The center is a one stop shop for all s*xual health related needs. One can not just get tested for HIV and STIs but also start ART or get on PrEP! We definitely need such models everywhere. The staff is not just capable, but extremely sweet and polite.

Vientiane (Laos) was all about affordable luxury and slow walks. People are nice and it ain’t as touristy as compared to other neighbouring countries. So it kind of slows you down and allows you to relax. Thailand is on the other side of the river which is quite interesting and people aspire to go to Thailand. The Chinese control seemed very evident 🙈 @ Vientiane Capital

At National Consultation on HIV Virtual Interventions organized by NACO and Jhu Accelerate with other partners, where a number of organizations and individuals shared their experience in the presence of stakeholders. Our group gave a presentation on service delivery to virtual and hidden populations. It was definitely amazing to be in a working group with government representatives and have their perspective 🙂

And like always, so happy to meet friends and colleagues like Shruta, Vivek Sir, Abheena, Rohit, Deepika, Dr Ashish Arora and so many more!

Say hello to First runner up and Mr Photogenic of MGI 2020 😉 Will soon post my talent round poem that I was so happy to perform as my ‘pyar ka Izhar’

Congrats for winning it! You are an honest person with your heart at right place. I told you already that it didn’t matter any more if the winner is your or me. Scale MIST and reach new heights. It’s very relevant work. Also very happy that you would go outside India and fulfil your dream. There is no chance at winning MGW but at least have fun 😉

The best part of participation - you get to meet some really lovely and amazing people. The sassy and kind (What is this behaviour, Pooja!!), the confident and enthusiastic (you know you walked the best right? Are you sure those heels are not part of your body?), the most talented .noonwal (your existence is an art itself)!!

Very good experience. A little chaotic and unorganised; perhaps because too much to be packed in just 3 days with organisers working only in volunteering capacities with limited time and resources.

For those who have been asking me if they should apply, it requires a lot of commitment - physical, time, intellectual and financial. So get in if you are willing to go that way!

My Story: 'I Still Can’t Say That I Feel Free To Live With My Partner Or That I Feel Equal' 25/01/2020

"Standing at the Supreme Court that day and pondering about it, I realised that the battle for the q***r community has indeed just begun. There is so much to do before we could feel that our love is just as sacred as anyone else’s. That it deserves the same rights and that we are truly free and Azaad."

Starting the finale with reading again a piece I wrote for The Logical Indian after the supreme court judgment!

https://thelogicalindian.com/my-story/section-377-lgbt-story

My Story: 'I Still Can’t Say That I Feel Free To Live With My Partner Or That I Feel Equal' Reading down of 377 doesn’t solve all problems. It just creates a foundation to build solutions for those problems. On September 6, 2018, the Supreme Court of India read down Section 377 and s*x...

Remembering a sensitization workshop we did with grassroots journalists from across India for the Press4change project when I finally worked with Love Matters India. And also got to partner with lovely people at Keshav Suri Foundation.

This workshop was only one part of the project, we also did workshops with journalism students in different cities and hosted Conq***r 2019 - a symposium inviting folks from various backgrounds to chalk out issues faced by the LGBTQ community after section 377 in various sectors.

When I was quoted in The Independent for the work we were doing at SafeMasti - one of the most fun programs to tackle one of the most serious issues, STDs and HIV. We didn't just normalize but also made conversations about STDs and HIV fun. If you haven't still watched SafeMasti videos, just look it up ;)

Throwback to time in Bali. A holiday which became work because of the preparations - working out, writing to people with vote appeal, finding clothes and so much more. Now it begins, wish me luck for Mr. Gay India 2020!!

"I tried to self-harm myself more than 7 times in my life. Last time when I was in the hospital battling suicidal tendencies and depression, I realized I have more to offer to the life. And that was my point of realization acceptance." - Zainab Patel. She is the Director Diversity & Inclusion, KPMG India, but more importantly, she is a courageous soul from whom we all can take some inspiration.

Know about her own 'Moment of Acceptance' and how did she start to love herself and how it changed her!

Not one of the best pics but one of the most relevant ones. This picture was clicked right after an LGBTQ advocacy workshop with medical students at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College college.

The idea of the workshop was to sensitize the medical college students at that very level so that they don't have a bias when they enter the practice and the community receives a better quality of services.

We later did similar workshops in AIIMS, Delhi and Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College & General Hospital in Mumbai. I was lucky to have support people of amazing people like Dr Siddharth (lovingly Pando), Dr Abhishek, Saransh, Aiyush and some very enthusiastic students of the colleges.

I was doing these workshops as part of an initiative called QIS (Q***r India Support) with a vision to create a holistic platform to find the first line of support for the q***r community. I then got involved in Safe Masti which had a similar vision; It was also then I had started to realize that individualistic sporadic efforts were not something that were going to help in long run. If I really had to bring a change, I need to become a part of the mainstream development work of the community. It has been a brand new start since then :)

I feel very proud to be able to reach the finale of Mr Gay India 2020 and getting an opportunity to enrich my journey further. Also overwhelmed with so much of love and support so far with hope to continue receiving it and winning the title 🙂🙂
