Symptoms and signs of a TIA or stroke :
In the early stages of carotid artery disease there might be no signs or symptoms. People might not notice the condition until its cause a stroke or TIA by depriving you brain of blood.
* Sudden weakness or numbness in the one side of the body, May be in the face or limbs.
* Trouble in speaking and understanding.
* Blurry vision in one or both eyes
* Loss of balance or dizziness
* Severe or sudden headache with no prior cause
Carotid Artery Stenosis.
Carotid artery stenosis is a narrowing of the large arteries on either side of the neck that carry blood to the face, brain and head Build-up of plaque within the arteries usually result this narrowing and this condition is called atherosclerosis. Stenosis may worsen with time and completely block the artery which can cause stroke.
Two main approaches to aneurysm repair treatment:
1.Surgical Repair:
Clipping, Bypass Surgery, Open Repair.
2. Endovascular Repair:
Coil Embolization, Stent-Assisted Coiling, Flow Diversion.
As we celebrate Eid, let’s remember to be grateful for the blessings in our lives and spread love and kindness to all. Eid Mubarak!
Aneurysm Repair Treatment
Aneurysm repair treatment refers to the medical procedures and interventions aimed at addressing an aneurysm, which is an abnormal bulge or ballooning in the wall of a blood vessel. Aneurysms can occur in various parts of the body, including the brain, aorta (the body's main artery), and other arteries.

What is Brain Hemorrhage?
A brain hemorrhage, also known as cerebral hemorrhage, occurs when there is bleeding in the brain tissue itself or surrounding areas. This bleeding can occur due to a variety of reasons, including trauma, high blood pressure, aneurysms (weak spots in blood vessel walls), arteriovenous malformations (abnormal connections between arteries and veins), blood clotting disorders, or the use of blood- thinning medications.

Acute Stroke
An acute stroke, also known as a cerebrovascular accident (CVA) or brain attack, occurs when there's a sudden interruption in the blood supply to the brain. This interruption can be caused by a blockage (ischemic stroke) or the rupture of a blood vessel (hemorrhagic stroke).
The treatment of acute stroke depends on whether it is ischemic or hemorrhagic in nature.
1. Ischemic Stroke Treatment
• Intravenous Thrombolysis (tPA)
• Mechanical Thrombectomy
• Aspirin and Other Antiplatelet Agents
• Control of Risk Factors
2. Hemorrhagic Stroke Treatment
• Surgical Intervention
• Blood Pressure Control
• Monitoring and Supportive Care
• Rehabilitation

Blood Clots
A blood clot in the brain is a serious medical condition that can lead to various complications, including stroke. When a blood clot forms in an artery or vein within the brain or travels to the brain from another part of the body, it can block blood flow, leading to damage of brain tissue due to lack of oxygen & nutrients.

What is Ischemic Stroke?
Ischemic strokes occur when blood flow to the brain is blocked by a blood clot. There are two major types of ischemic stroke:
➤ Thrombotic strokes
➤ Embolic strokes

Ischemic vs. Hemorrhagic Stroke
Both types of strokes are dangerous and deadly without quick treatment. A stroke, no matter the type or severity, can be devastating. Left untreated, it can cause permanent damage or death.
Ischemic
➤ This type of stroke occurs when there is a blockage or clot in a blood vessel supplying blood to the brain.
➤ The lack of blood flow to a specific part of the brain can result in damage to brain cells.
➤ Common symptoms include sudden numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body.
Hemorrhagic
➤ Hemorrhagic strokes occur when a blood vessel in the brain ruptures and causes bleeding.
➤ The bleeding can cause increased pressure in the skull, leading to further damage to surrounding brain tissue.
➤ Symptoms can include sudden severe headache, nausea and vomiting, seizures, and loss of consciousness.

Interventional Radiology Treatment for Stroke
Interventional radiology plays a crucial role in the treatment of stroke, particularly in cases of acute ischemic stroke. Acute ischemic stroke occurs when there is a sudden blockage of blood flow to the brain, leading to damage of brain tissue. One of the primary interventional radiology procedures used in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke is called mechanical thrombectomy.

Signs and Symptoms of Stroke FAST
To recognize the signs of stroke, remember the acronym FAST:
>>> Face :- Ask the person to smile. Look for a droop on one or both sides of their face, which is a sign of muscle weakness or paralysis.
>>> Arm :- If they have one-sided weakness(and didn't have it before), one arm will stay higher while the other will sag and drop downward.
>>> Speech:- Strokes often cause a person to lose their ability to speak. They might slur their speech or have trouble choosing the right words.
>>> Time :- Time is critical, so don't wait to get help! Telling a healthcare provider when symptoms started can help the provider know what treatment options are best for you.

How are Ischemic strokes treated?
The highest priority with ischemic stroke is restoring circulation to the affected brain areas. That's because restoring circulation quickly can limit the damage and preserve brain tissue. The less permanent brain damage you have, the more likely you'll keep all or most of the abilities you had before the stroke.

What causes Ischemic Stroke?
An ischemic stroke occurs due to atherosclerosis, which causes fatty deposits and a buildup of cholesterol plaque in the blood vessels.
When too much plaque collects in one spot, it can block the blood flow to vital organs. A blood clot may stick to a plaque buildup while passing through the blood vessels, which also creates a blockage.

What is Ischemic Brain Stroke?
An ischemic stroke occurs when there is a blockage or clot in a blood vessel
supplying blood to the brain, resulting in reduced blood flow and oxygen to
a specific part of the brain.
