Influenced from the folk art of Pattachitra. These magnets do not follow the traditional aesthetics of the original art form, such as the floral border or natural pigments, however, I have tried to incorporate bright colours and detailing wherever possible.

This was my first experience with any needle work, I don’t even know how to sew a button! I got this embroidery kit from “Electomania Embroidery Starter Kit” from and it’s totally worth the time and money! We’ve been embroidering for the past week and have now allocated an “embroidery wall” at home which will solely be used for displaying our patterns 💚

🪆The Singing Bird 🇷🇺
This magnet set is inspired by traditional Russian Folk art called Khokhloma.🪆
Traditionally Khokhloma artworks depict nature-related motifs which include beautiful curling leaves, birds, and blooming flowers. The three main colours used are red and gold against dark scarlet or black backgrounds. The black represents the cleansing of the soul. This style was generally painted on wooden utensils and the artworks represent the bountiful festivities of the villages in the autumn time. I have painted these pheasants in a similar way but have incorporated a variety of colour rather than the three main colours that are generally used.

Groovy eye-catching magnets just for you! The initial idea for these came from a Traditional Russian painting I found on Google images (If anyone knows the name of the artist then let me know.) ➡️ Slide to see the painting. The painting has this beautiful child-like quality and the colours are so alluring. The eye-flower was my favourite part so I re-created them into magnets.
