Romans 13:11-14.

And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.

The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.

Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.

God honours those who fear and honour Him.

Exodus 1:15-21

But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the male children alive…. Therefore, God dealt well with the midwives, and the people multiplied and grew very mighty. And so it was, because the midwives feared God, that He provided households for them.

It is so wonderful to know how the Hebrew midwives (Shiphrah and Puah) feared the Lord and disobeyed the King’s order. The king’s order was against of God’s will (i. e. to kill the baby boys of Hebrews.) Praise God for those ordinary women stood strong to honour God's law. God honoured the Hebrew midwives as they feared God and blessed them with households.

Dear friends let us fear and honour God above all. He is in the highest authority. As long as our friends, colleaugues, close relatives or boss in our work place, chief in our society or even leaders in our Govt authority makes decision in the accordance to God’s law we are submissive to their decisions and obey their commands. Jesus commands us to do the same in the gospel. But when they go against of God’s law, we need to make the right choice to obey God rather than men.

Peter and the other apostles answered to the local court and said: “we ought to obey God rather than men.” (Acts 5:29)

Think about Daniel how He stood up for God though he had to face a furious persecution for it.

God honoured everyone those who feared and honoured Him.
