It took us a good couple of months to decide on a design for our boxes, coupled with restrictions due to the pandemic.

However, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝘅𝗲𝘀 have finally arrived!!!
P.S. Since the cost of production for the boxes have been significant, only orders above a certain amount shall be packed in them for the time being. Once we can scale up and acquire them at a lower cost, every order shall come with it's own box. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Out with the old and in with the new?
DEFINITELY NOT. That's not the Umal way.

We AD❣️RE a mix of both - that are both modern and yet durable in both material and design.

Here's one such mekhela chador created with that in mind. Made of paat silk for the modern woman, and adorned with muga motifs as an ode to older times.

It's a pity toss mekhela chadors aren't worn more often. In an effort to make toss more versatile, Umal had aimed to create pieces that reflected the wild silk's lustre and yet was lightweight and manageable.

With only a few sets remaining, it's safe to say we succeeded in doing so.

Here's one such set with the classic black and red paari (border).

Pair it with a contrasting sleeveless blouse and bold traditional jewellery or go the Umal way and let the bold weaves do the work.

What shines bright under the scorching sun? Bronze guna paari.

Bringing to you Umal's first mekhela chador set adorned with motifs made with BRONZE guna, that almost blends in with the rose mauve mulberry mekhela chador.

Although small, the dark brown floral hand woven motifs pack a punch and creates a subtle yet perfect contrast. Rose mauve and dark brown tassles add the finishing touches to this breathtaking mekhela chador set.
