NOLBARI.. this nondescript little railway station located in the North Garo Hills district has historical significance. It has tracks going into Meghalaya, the only ones currently.
Serviced by the Mendipathar passenger train daily. It connects Meghalaya with Dudnoi and futher into Assam.
Beautiful location to boot, this can be a major boost to tourism in the area too..

(yes it can easily be mistaken for its more popular namesake, Nalbari..)

Anini is one of the most beautiful destinations in Arunachal Pradesh..

Hidden gem Kaziranga National Park....

Burapahar Range (Ghorakati) Kaziranga

This range is often overlooked by the regular throngs of tourists visiting the more popular Central range (Kohora) and Western range (Bagori) but is a treasure of nature's bounty.
It's just at the very start when one reaches Jakhalabandha and begins the ascend towards Burapahar.

It has recently seen a lot of the elusive tiger sightings along with Capped langurs, Gibbons, elephants, buffalo, one horned rhino etc.
It's also a favourite with birding enthusiasts, specially towards Feb/March.
Jeep Safari is also available and takes the tourists around the range for about 2 hrs and takes one to the banks of the Diphlu river.
There is also a unique jungle walk trail. It is an easy trek for around 4 hours with Hoolock Gibbons and butterflies for company. It opens up to the views of the mighty Brahmaputra.

Accomodation is also available for the tourists such as Koliabor Manor , green village resort, Tusita Ban jungle camp etc.
Ethnic food is available at the community run initiative Choran Ahem, a must try.

Decisions of the Government post the review meeting held today:

EDUCATION
Government has decided to reopen all Colleges in from September 1st 2021. For Schools in Urban areas, Class 1-5 may have online classes, Class 6-8 may have school visits & Class 9-12 may be opened. For Schools in Rural areas, Class 1-5 may have school visits & Class 6-12 may be opened

TOURISM
will restart its tourism from 1st September 2021 with the following protocols:

1. Fully vaccinated tourists will be allowed to visit Meghalaya for tourism related purposes from 1st September, 2021.

2. Tourists who are unvaccinated or vaccinated with a single dose will have to produce negative RTPCR/TrueNat/CBNAAT report valid only if they have tested within 72 Hrs prior to their arrival at the entry point.

3. Local tourists from within the State that are fully vaccinated/vaccinated with single dose will be allowed to visit any location in Meghalaya for tourism purposes.
